*The Mysteries of Anatomy*

*Brilliantly written verse*...
*For lovers of the English language*
*The Mysteries of Anatomy*

Where can a man buy a cap for his knee,
Or the key to a lock of his hair?
Can his eyes be called an academy?
Because there are pupils there?

In the crown of your head can jewels be found?
Who crosses the bridge of your nose?
If you wanted to shingle the roof of your mouth,
Would you use the nails on your toes?

Can you sit in the shade of the palm of your hand,
Or beat on the drum of your ear?
Can the calf in your leg eat the corn off your toe?
Then why not grow corn on the ear?

Can the crook in your elbow be sent to jail?
If so, just what did he do?
How can you sharpen your shoulder blades?
I'll be darned if I know. Do you?

 HOW TO FORGIVE

Around the Year with Emmet Fox

February 17

“Cast thy burden upon the Lord,

and he shall sustain thee. . .”

(Psalm 55:22)

The technique of forgiveness is not very difficult

when you understand how.

The only thing that is essential is willingness to forgive.

Provided you desire to forgive the offender,

the greatest part of the work is already done.

The method of forgiving is this:

Get by yourself and become quiet.

Repeat any prayer that appeals to you,

or read a chapter of the Bible.

Then quietly say,

"I fully and freely forgive X

(mentioning the name of the offender);

I loose him and let him go. I cast the burden aside.

He is free now, and I am free too.

The Truth of Christ has set us both free.

I thank God."

On no account repeat this act of forgiveness,

because to do it a second time

would be tacitly to repudiate your own work.

Afterward, whenever the memory of the offender

or the offense happens to come into your mind,

bless the delinquent briefly and dismiss the thought.

Do this; however, many times the thought may come back.

You will find that all bitterness and resentment

have disappeared, and you are both free

with the perfect freedom of the children of God.

Your forgiveness is complete.

What did PM Modi say after Sonia Gandhi's comment on democracy?

Natarajan Parameswaran

Following is the reply by our PM Modi for Sonia's comments on democracy:

"Generations Of Corruption...": PM Modi After Sonia Gandhi's Comment On Democracy

Ahead of first phase of polling in Bihar, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi accused the ruling JDU-BJP government of being "drunk on power and arrogance"

PM Modi was addressing a conference on anti-corruption and vigilance

Highlights

  • Sonia Gandhi had said Indian democracy is at a "crossroads"
  • PM said this dynasty of corruption makes the country hollow
  • He said that entire "generations of corruption" had acted with impunity

A day after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi said Indian democracy is at a "crossroads" and that the "pillars of a democratic system are under assault", Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a not-so-subtle swipe at the opposition party, hitting out at a "dynasty of corruption (that passed) from generation to generation... became part of political tradition... makes the country hollow".

Addressing the National Conference on Vigilance and Anti-Corruption via video-link, the Prime Minister said that entire "generations of corruption" had acted with impunity and gone unpunished but, under his government, "citizens' trust in the government has increased".

In past decades, we've seen that when a generation of corruption is not punished, others commit corruption with more power. Due to this, in many states, it became part of political tradition. This dynasty of corruption from generation to generation makes the country hollow," PM Modi said.

"Today, citizens' trust in the government has increased. Old laws have been abolished to reduce undue pressure of the government. Efforts are being made to make citizens' life easier," he added.

On Friday, in a column for the Hindustan Times, Mrs Gandhi wrote: "The world's largest democracy is at the crossroads. That the economy is in deep crisis is clear. But what is less appreciated is that all the pillars of a democratic system of governance are under assault."

She hit out at the Narendra Modi government for stifling dissent (and branding it as "anti-national" and "terrorism") and using central investigative agencies like the CBI and Enforcement Directorate to "target political opposition".

Mrs Gandhi earlier also accused the ruling JDU-BJP in Bihar - where Assembly elections start Wednesday - of being "drunk on power and arrogance" and said a "serious crisis" had impacted the lives of farmers and Dalits and other marginalised members of society.

The interim Congress chief urged the people of the state - where her party has allied with Tejashwi Yadav's RJD and Left groups - to vote for a "new Bihar".

The BJP and the Congress routinely trade accusations of corruption, with the latter party quick to attack at any mention of the Rafale fighter jet deal and over charges that the government frames policies that benefit certain industrial and business groups.

PM Modi and other BJP leaders, meanwhile, often allege rampant corruption and political instability were the hallmarks of the Congress-led UPA governments.

DEFINING SUCCESS !!

 DEFINING SUCCESS !!

I thought success was a corner office; until I got the corner office.
I thought success was a big salary; until I got the big salary.
I thought success was an important title; until I got the important title.
I thought success was the house, car, and mountains of stuff; until I got all of those.

While it is certainly okay to achieve the office, salary, title and other ‘things,’ I learned that, for me, true success is waking each day with the self-respect, happiness and fulfillment that comes from being able to honestly look at myself in the mirror and say, 'Today I did my best to be the best person possible.'

*Management Lesson*

*Management Lesson*

One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along the route. No problems for the first few stops - a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well.

At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the driver and said, "Big John doesn't pay!" and sat down at the back.

Did I mention that the driver was five feet three, thin, and basically meek? Well, he was. Naturally, he didn't argue with Big John, but he wasn't happy about it.

The next day the same thing happened - Big John got on
again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down.

And the next day, and the next.

This disturbed on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him. Finally he could stand it no longer.

He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff. By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong; what's more, he felt really good about himself.

So on the next Monday, when Big John once again got on the bus and said, "Big John doesn't pay!"

The driver stood up, glared back at the passenger, and screamed, "And why not?"

With a surprised look on his face, Big John replied, "Big John has a bus pass."

MANAGEMENT LESSON:
Be Sure to Identify the problem clearly before working hard to solve it.
Most solutions are simple, we complicate the issues.

Confront your problems early, don't lose sleep over them & stay blessed forever.
