Who was Jatayu’s father as per the Ramayana?

In the Ramayan, Jatayu's father was a divine bird named Aruṇ, who served as the charioteer of the sun god Surya. Aruṇ was a significant figure in Hindu mythology and was responsible for driving the sun across the sky every day. Jatayu, a vulture, played a pivotal role in the Ramayan as well. He tried to rescue Mata Sita when she was being abducted by Ravan, the demon king of Lanka, but was fatally injured in the process.

Before passing away, Jatayu informed Lord Ram about Sita's abduction, aiding Ram and his allies in their quest to rescue her.
