The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven.

The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven.

At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur. 'Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in heaven.'

Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, ' I want to hang out with God.'

St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God.

God recognised Arthur and commented, 'Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley-Davidson motorcycle? '
Arthur said, 'Yeah, that's me...'

God commented: 'Well, what's the big deal in inventing something that's pretty unstable, makes noise and pollution and can't run without a road?'

Arthur was a bit embarrassed, but finally spoke, 'Excuse me, but aren't you the inventor of woman?'

God said, 'Ah, yes.'

'Well,' said Arthur , 'professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention !
1 There's too much inconsistency in the front-end suspension

2. It chatters constantly at high speeds

3. Most rear ends are too soft and wobble about too much

4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust

5. The maintenance costs are outrageous!!!!

'Hmmmmm, you may have some good points there,' replied God, 'hold on.'

God went to his Celestial supercomputer, typed in a few words and waited for the results.

The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.

'Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed,' God said to Arthur, 'but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours'.

f You are 60+ Live Your Life Well

*MOST OF THE INDIAN SENIOR CITIZENS DIE RICH.*

*~ The younger generation is moving away from real estate, whereas the seniors are still engrossed emotionally in real estate.*
The seniors have built houses not only for themselves but also for their children, and even for those who have settled abroad or outside the home State.

*The next generation is least interested in these houses. They have no time to look at these properties.  The next generation is very asset light.*

One such senior citizen died at the age of eighty-five. His wife had already passed away.  One son lives in London and the other in New Zealand. They have the nationality of those countries. Neither was interested in the house his father had built. The father had written a will to give all the property equally to both the children. The sons did not have time to get all the property in their names and then sell it.Both of them made a power of attorney in someone's name. Thus, all the proceeds from the sale of the property were sent to their home country.

*~ Our second traditional investment is in gold and silver items.*
Investing in gold and silver is often very emotional.
This is done in the form of ornaments for daughters-in-law or for grandchildren, instead of buying pure gold.

The new generation often does not like old fashioned jewellery items. As such, they are broken down into new designs. It goes back and forth.
*The new generation prefers to wear fake rather than genuine jewelery as they do not want to take risks*.
In other countries, gold is kept in pure form as an investment and a very little quantity in jewellery items.

*~ The third emotional investment is children's higher education.*
Occasionally, senior  citizens take out loans for their children's higher education by cutting down on their hobbies/needs.When the children get jobs, they pay off debts but in some cases  the parents have to repay these loans.

Going beyond this, some seniors are investing in Ayurvima policies or other investments to facilitate education for their grandchildren.

*Taking out a loan for children's education is understandable but why to invest in grandchildren's education now*, especially  when your children have already started investing in SIPs for their children's education etc.

*How is our mindset? We don’t want to ask financial help from our married children. But taking care of grandchildren is our responsibility!* Thinking of own children throughout their life and again thinking of grandchildren in old age.!!!

*Your lifespan is increasing.  Your costs are rising.Think about it.Do not forget your own pleasure in thinking of others.Live life for yourself.*

It is rightly said that *Most of the Indians spend miserly all their lives and make the next generation rich.*

*So, If You are 60+ Live Your Life Well, Spend on Your Hobbies and Fulfill Your Wish List, so that You Live Rich and  Don't Just Die Rich  !!!!!*

Power of Prayer- Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

When you feel the obstacle is too much to handle, deep prayer can work miracles. Whatever you do, know that the higher power has the final say and you can tap that power through your prayers because prayer is the cry of a soul. It happens when you feel utterly helpless or when you feel totally grateful. Both are authentic and always get fulfilled.

Praying doesn’t mean just sitting and chanting some words. It is about being in that serene, calm, meditative state. Whereas religion puts words to prayer, and adds symbols and rituals to it, prayer itself transcends them. It happens in the subtle level of feelings and the feelings transcend words and religion. This silence is one step beyond the barriers of language. It is that which the whole universe can understand. That is why, in the Vedic tradition, before and after prayers, there is meditation.

When the mind is focused, prayer becomes far more powerful. You have to connect to yourself because all powers are hidden within the Self. Then everything will manifest. It is like using the cell phone. If you keep on pressing numbers but there is no SIM card inside, will it work? Similarly, some of our prayers are not getting connected. You haven’t put in the SIM card. Now if you have the SIM card and no range, will it work? Or, if the range and SIM card are there, but battery is not charged, will it work? You need a SIM card, charge and range and only then you can call anyone, anywhere.

So, Sadhana (spiritual practices) is the SIM card, Satsang (music and meditation) is the charge and your faith is the range, because a true prayer can’t happen without devotion and faith. The act of praying itself has the power to bring transformation. Realise that God’s protection is there for you. And if at all you have to pray for something, pray for the happiness of all the people in the world  SRI Sri Ravishankar

Well written and explained the impact after parents death*-Journalist Vikas Shah

Well written and explained the impact after parents death*

They die rich ... !!!

On the one hand, the younger generation is moving away from real estate, while on the other hand, the seniors are still engrossed in real estate.

The seniors have built houses not only for themselves but also for their children.

Even for those whose next generation is not only outside the State, but also abroad, parents have bought houses for them to live.

The next generation is not even interested in these houses.  There is no time to look at these properties.  The next generation is very pragmatic.

One of my client died at the age of eighty-five.  His wife had already passed away.  One boy lives in London and the other in New Zealand.  They have the nationality of that country.  Neither was interested in the house his father had taken.  The father had written a will to give all the property equally to both the children.  I was the will manager.  The two boys did not have time to get all the property in their name and then sell it.  Both of them made a power of attorney in my name.  All the proceeds from the sale of the property were deposited in a special account and sent to their home country.

Senior citizens are emotionally involved in their properties, but the younger generation is not involved.

A client had built a house in Konkan to live in after his retirement.  After the parents, the children did not have time to register the property in their name.  It was difficult to go to the village and complete the paperwork with the government officials.  They were not interested in the income coming from the property.  Because they had a lot of income of their own.  So they were blaming their-father for building a house in the village.

Our second traditional investment is in gold, coins and silver items. And since it is risky to handle, it is kept in a bank locker.  Putting it in the bank puts an end to its use and we enrich the bank with locker rent and locker deposit.

The price of gold was so high in our childhood.  Today it has grown so much, we say.  You don't count the middle years.  In the long run, the return on gold investment is only seven per cent.

Also, capital gains tax on profits is different.

Investing in gold and silver is often very emotional.  It is not considered practical.

This is done in the form of ornaments for daughters-in-law or for grandchildren, instead of carrying pure gold.

The new generation often does not like old fashioned jewelry.  Then they are broken down into new designs.  It goes back and forth.

If you walk around the market today, most of the shops are mobile, followed by gold-silver, clothes, medicines, food items.  Compared to that, there are very few varieties.  Shops in which profits are huge.  Naturally, the customer's benefit will be less.

The new generation prefers to wear fake rather than genuine jewelery as they do not want to take risks.  In the end the fake jewelry shines too much.

China and India have the highest demand for gold.  In other countries gold is bought in very small quantities in the form of jewelery.

Gold is kept in pure form in other countries as an investment.

Investment concepts are changing.  The return on old plans is likely to be even lower in the future.  Understand it in time and choose an alternative investment plan.

The third emotional investment is children's higher education.

Occasionally, they take out loans for their children's higher education by cutting down on their hobbies.  When children get jobs, they pay off debts.  If the children are abroad, these loans are often repaid by the parents.  Going beyond this, some seniors are investing in Ayurvima policies or other investments to facilitate education for their grandchildren.

That's what a senior client asked when investing,

"Uncle, take out a loan for children's education.  Why invest in grandchildren now? '' He replied, '' The cost of education is increasing day by day.  That's all I can do for my grandchildren's education. "

I asked them, "Do you have any idea how much money will be needed for grandchildren's education?"  And your child has already started investing in SIPs for their grandchildren's education.  That money will be enough for his education.

Instead of trying to save a fortune in the name of grandchildren, you two should go for a good tour.

He said, "Invest this money for my grandson's birthday present.  See you later. "

How is our mindset. We don’t want to ask financial help from our married children. But taking care of grandchildren is our responsibility.

Thinking of children all my life and thinking of grandchildren in old age.

Your lifespan is increasing.  Your costs are rising.  Think about it.  Do not forget your own pleasure in thinking of others.  Live life for yourself.

It is said that Indians live in poverty all their lives and make the next generation rich.

*Sunday Special Story* 💕-Gurudev Sri Sri Shankar

 *Sunday Special Story* 💕

Once Guruji was returning to the German Ashram from Caracas, Venezuela. However, due to unavailability of a direct flight to Frankfurt, he landed in Paris before going to the Ashram. It was a surprise visit for all Parisians.

It also happened to be Guruji’s birthday according to the Hindu calendar. So a surprise satsang with a cake was planned in the hotel where he was staying.

At around 6 pm, about 150 people had gathered, who had about 1 hour notice to reach the venue. It was a beautiful, intimate satsang and birthday party. One of the volunteers asked Guruji, “How did this plan for Paris come up?”. It seemed like a very mundane question.

*Here’s what Guruji said – “There are plans at many levels. There is a room plan, what colour to paint the walls, where to keep the flower vase? Then there is a house plan, street plan, city plan, country plan and so on at various levels of detail. The biggest plan is that we are all here at the same time, one in saudi arabia, one in Germany, one in Bangalore, but we are all here now.*

When and where we meet is the next level of planning. *Often what we think is planned is not the real plan and what we don’t plan for, is the plan.*

Few months back, I went on an unplanned trip to Himachal Pradesh in India. I had gone to inaugurate a power plant and was supposed to return to Delhi by helicopter. Somehow, the helicopter had a problem, some valve was not ok.

After trying three times to start it, the pilot said he did not want to take a risk anymore. So we decided to proceed by car.

*On the way, we stopped at a residence where there were close to 500 people waiting to meet me. There was an 80 year old lady in that house who shared that she really wanted to come and see me but could not because her health did not permit it. She was so grateful and happy that I came to her house.*

We then went to another house for lunch.
*There was a 3 year old child in that house who had been saying since 3 months back that Guruji is coming to our house in March. Nobody paid attention to her but I was there in that house on the 2nd of March.*

So, looks like perhaps this was the plan.”

At this point a lady in the satsang in Paris shared, “Guruji, Even I had a dream yesterday that I was sitting with you and sharing a meal”. Guruji had just given her a piece of cake to eat.

Once upon a time, there was a very strong woodcutter. He asked for a job from a timber merchant, and he got it. The pay was really good and so were the work conditions. For that reason the woodcutter was determined to do his best.

His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought down 18 trees.

The Boss was very much impressed and said, “Congratulations keep it up!”

Very motivated by the words of the boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he only could bring down 15 trees.

The third day he tried even harder, but he only could bring down 10 trees. Day after day he was bringing down less and less trees.

“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought to himself.

He went to the boss and apologised, saying that he could not understand what was going on.

“When was the last time you sharpened your Axe?” the boss asked.

“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my Axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees.

The moral of the story:
Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we don’t take time to sharpen the axe. In today’s world, it seems that everyone is busy, but less happy. Why is that? Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay sharp?
There is nothing wrong with activity and hard work. But we should not get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like our personal life, taking time to care for others, taking time to read, divine activity sharpens the love  in heart.etc We all need time to relax, to think and meditate, to learn and grow. If we don’t take time to sharpen the axe, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness. So start from today, think about the ways by which you could do your job more effectively and add a lot of value to it.

“To handle yourself, use your head. To handle others, use your heart.”

Sip your Tea

Sip your Tea
Nice and Slow
No one Ever knows
when it’s Time to Go,
There’ll be no Time
to enjoy the Glow,
So sip your Tea
Nice and Slow.

Life is too Short but
feels pretty Long,
There’s too Much to do, so much going Wrong,
And Most of the Time You Struggle to be Strong,
Before it’s too Late
and it’s time to Go,
Sip your Tea
Nice and Slow.

Some Friends stay,
others Go away,
Loved ones are Cherished but not all will Stay.
Kids will Grow up
and Fly away.
There’s really no Saying how Things will Go,
So sip your Tea
Nice and Slow.

In the End it’s really
all about understanding Love
For this World
and in the Stars above,
Appreciate and Value who truly Cares,
Smile and Breathe
and let your Worries go,
So Just Sip your Tea
Nice and Slow."

When I'm dead.
Your tears will flow
But I won't know
Cry with me now instead.

You will send flowers,
But I won't see
Send them now instead

You'll say words of praise
But I won't hear.
Praise me now instead

You'll forget my faults,
But I won't know.....
Forget them now  instead.

You'll miss me then,
But I won't feel.
Miss me now, instead.

You'll wish You could have spent more time with me,
Spend it now instead

When you hear I'm gone, you'll find your way to my house to pay condolence but we haven't even spoken in years.
Look for me now.

*"Spend time with every person around you, and help them with whatever you have to make them happy, your families, friends and  acquaintances.*
*Make them feel Special because you never know when time will take them away from you forever.*

Alone I can 'Say' but together we can 'Talk'.
Alone I can 'Enjoy' but together we can 'Celebrate'
Alone I can 'Smile' but together we can 'Laugh'

That's the BEAUTY of Human Relations.
We are nothing without each other
So Stay Connected!🙏

I was walking around in a Big Bazaar store shopping, when I saw a Cashier talking to a boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old..

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll. Then the little boy turned to the cashier and asked: are you sure I don't have enough money?''

The cashier counted his cash once again and replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy the doll, my dear.'' The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. 'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much . I wanted to Gift her for her BIRTHDAY.

I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.' His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God.. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister...''

My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.' Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so my sister won't forget me.' 'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.' Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly..

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?''

'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'

Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!'' 'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. My mommy loves white roses.'

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever...

The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

An interesting story of air conditioning on Indian Railways.

An interesting story of air conditioning on Indian Railways.
________________
The first Indian train to get an air conditioned car, which started running from 1934 was the Frontier Mail.

The airconditioning system then was basic, unlike the thermostat controlled powerplants we see today.

In those days, ice blocks were used, carried in sealed receptacles built beneath the car floor, which were replenished at several halts along the line. A battery operated blower constantly blew air into these receptacles, and the cold air entered the insulated cars through vents.  Though it was very basic and messy, the effect was very pleasant. It was luxury at its best then.

Imagine today if huge ice blocks were pushed into the underfloor ice receptacles at every other stop, how intimidating it would be.  The picture shows Ice supply for the air conditioning in First class coach of the Frontier Mail at Bayana Junction on 11.09.1942.
