Why couldn't Arjun finish the whole Mahabharata in one day when he had defeated all the main worriers in Virat Yudh?
Arjun could not finish the whole war in 1 day because of the following reasons: -
For finishing the war, he had to kill all warriors whereas in Virat Yudh, he just defeated them. Killing is much more difficult than just defeating.
In Virat Yudh, there was only Kaurav army whereas in Mahabharat Yudh, there was so many other armies along with the Kaurav army.
In Virat Yudh, all main warriors were known to him. Arjun knew their fighting style, their prowess, their strengths and weaknesses. In Mahabharat Yudh, as there were so many other armies, Arjun does not knew all this about other so many warriors of other armies.
In Virat Yudh, Arjun was fighting on behalf of Virat kingdom whereas in Mahabharat Yudh, he was fighting for himself. That’s why he became very emotional in Mahabharat Yudh.
In Virat Yudh, Arjun has not taken any vow to not use divine weapons whereas in Mahabharat Yudh, he had decided not to use divine weapons but wanted to win on the basis of his own power and prowess.
