Why aren't dinosaurs mentioned in the Hindu mythology?

Why aren't dinosaurs mentioned in the Hindu mythology? Dinosaurs first appeared between 247 and 240 million years ago. They ruled the Earth for about 175 million years until an extinction event 65.5 million years ago which wiped out all of them, expect for the avian dinosaurs. Dinousaurs and human beings never met. Because Dinousaurs wiped out from earth millions of years ago. But how is it possible? There is no need to talk about Hindu Mythology. Just look at the carvings of Angkor Wat Temple. Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia was built by Suriyavarman II. How did they know about Dinousaurs? May be our ancestors lived with them? We don't know about the Yali too. It is also a mystical creature. But Ancient Tamilians know how to control it and even used it in war. You can see the sculpture of Yali in all South Indian Temples.
