Exercise

Avoid heavy exercises at any cost including marathon. Professional *marathoners* retire by mid twenties and professional *cyclists* by early thirties. We are pushing ourselves in late forties &  surely in fifties.

40-50 min brisk walk is all you need to keep your heart well and a bit working with 3-5 kg weights to keep your muscles in good health. That’s all you need. It’s a futile attempt to show that we are fit in growing fitness fad among ourselves makes us vulnerable to over exercise.

Devi Shetty always says, even if one is looking young and beautiful from outside, our inside organs are ageing and that sums it all.

Leave apart people who are dying, they are free from this ruthless life. Renowned Paed surgeon in early sixties damaged shoulder while lifting weight above 20kgs and had a life threatening complications of anaesthesia , survived with lot of mental trauma. Local pathologist in early fifties while doing dance practice led to rupture of tendoachillis and calcaneal crush fractures and now at home for atleast 6-8 weeks.

Avoid difficult treks, climbing mountains. Don’t try to challenge nature at any cost.

All these marathons etc did create awareness of exercise but not for those who are above forty years of age.

We are not immortal so death cannot be postponed just by doing exercise and surely not at all by over exercising.

Everything is mind power and one can easily live a healthy life if your mind is strong. Accept that death is inevitable and don’t land up in the trap of gyms, high protein preparations, body building.

Eat regional, seasonal fresh food and take breakfast, lunch dinner on time and 40-50 mins brisk walk that too 5-6 days a week.

And lastly, keep traveling & feel happy always.....!!!!
