Shared by someone on Pakistan

Things have really gone wrong in Pakistan. In 2016, I was having dinner at an Indian restaurant in Gallarate, Italy. The restaurant was owned by a Pakistani. I was in Italy with a Muslim colleague of mine. The waiter and my colleague got into a conversation, after the waiter realised that my colleague was a Muslim from India. The waiter was very young, in his early 20s. His story shocked the daylight out of us. He came from a village, 100 KM away from Lahore. At 12 or 13, he had lost his father. At the pretext of getting him educated, the Maulvi of his village convinced his Mom to allow him to take this kid to a Madrasa, a few hundred kms away from the village. That is where he was taught hate and jihad. He was brainwashed to hate Hindus. He was all set to sneak into Kashmir. Before joining the jihadi movement, he went back to his village to meet his family for one last time. His uncle, mother’s brother, who had a restaurant business in Italy, was visiting Pakistan. He was appalled to meet his nephew and instantly knew that if this kid is not weaned away from this self destructive ideology, his end was inevitable. He took this kid under his wings and brought him to Italy. The kid had changed over a period of time, but he still had issues of irrational anger & thoughts. These were the scars, years of brainwashing had left on his psyche. I presume, I was treated well by this waiter, because of presence of Muslim colleague of mine. That was the last time I went to that restaurant.
