"It will take 2 minutes, but you must read it!"
"It will take 2 minutes, but you must read it!"
A 30-year-old man standing on the pavement in front of the famous Tata Cancer Hospital in Parel area used to keep staring at the crowd standing below. The fear on the faces of the patients standing at the door of death, the helpless running around of their relatives used to make the young man very restless.
Most of the patients were poor people from outside villages. They did not even know whom to meet, what to do. Not only did they not have money for medicines and water, but they did not even have money for food.
The young man used to return home with a sad heart after seeing all this. The same thought kept coming to his mind again and again that "Something should be done for these people!" Day and night he kept himself engaged in this thought. And one day he found a solution to this.
He gave his well-running hotel on rent, and after collecting some money he started his yagya on the way to Kondaji Chawl in front of Tata Hospital. He himself did not know a yagya that would go on uninterrupted for the next 27 years.
His initiative of providing free food to cancer patients and their families was liked by countless people in the area.
Initially, this effort of providing food to 50-60 people gradually reached 100, 200, 300 and then countless helpers joined him. This work grew year after year. Neither the cold, nor the heat, nor the heavy rains of Mumbai could stop his Yagya. Gradually the number of people getting free food every day increased to more than 700.
Harakhchand Sawla did not stop here. He also started providing free medicines to needy patients.
For this, he opened a medicine bank, in which three pharmacists, three doctors and many social workers are working.
He also started a "Toy Bank" for children suffering from cancer.
Today, his established "Jeevan Jyot" Trust is engaged in more than 60 social works.
57-year-old Harakhchand Sawla is still engaged in service with the same enthusiasm.
Hundreds of salutes to his incomparable work and dedication!
In our country, crores of people consider Sachin Tendulkar, who played cricket for 24 years, as God, but hardly anyone knows Mumbai's Harakhchand Savla, who has provided free food to 10-12 lakh cancer patients and their families in 27 years. Forget about considering him God, people don't even know his name. This is the truth of our country's media.
The crores of devotees who go to **Pandharpur's Vithoba, Prabhadevi's Siddhivinayak, Shirdi's Sai Baba, Tirupati's Balaji** or other temples in search of God, will never find God. God is around us, but we don't recognize him.
In the last 27 years, lakhs of cancer patients and their families found God in the form of Harakhchand Savla!
