Langar is a great institution of Sikhism and Gurudwaras. These days there has been 35% to 50% increase at Langars in Gurudwaras as India embarks upon digitization. Further Sikhs are serving people standing in queues before banks and ATM's with tea and other savories . All organised religions and charitable institutions should undertake this activity as well. Just a thought can all religious institutions, charitable organisations and NGO's enter into a MOU with the government to disburse cash to tide over the inconvenience? Railways work 24 hours a day, some counters can be easily operated to exchange and deposit cash with more calibrated machines. Banks and Post Offices have only fixed working hours.A few thoughts on a Sunday. May seem outlandish. But never kill an idea.
