Knowledge Sheet of H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

#Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in satsang yesterday at The Art of Living International Center, Bangalore:

Q. Gurudev, in last satsang you said that everything is a lie and kept us all in suspense by telling that you will explain later. Kindly throw some light on this.
#SriSri: At least this you realized, that everything is a lie! What I said that could also be a lie then! I told this only that when everything is lie, including me, then all questions just drop, isn’t it? What do we call a lie? That which is changing, is what is called as lie, correct? Yesterday you said something and today you say something else then that is called a lie. Do you know what is the definition of truth? That which never changes in all three times ie. past, present and future, that is truth. Some thing that does not change is what we call as truth, correct?

If you look around, everything is changing, isn’t it? The way you were ten years ago is not the same as you are today! In one year, each and every cell of our body gets changed. When everything is changing then there must be some reference point for this change also. You need a reference point for changes, otherwise you can’t even know the change. And what is that reference point? That is what ‘you’ are!

If you see your photograph when you were in school, now it will not match. Body changed, mind changed, intellect changed, thoughts changed, feelings changed, everything changed but there is something definite, because of which we are able to notice this change. That is why I say that you first notice that everything is changing, then that which is not changing will start coming in your grasp a little. And once you catch hold, then you realize ‘I am That’!

Q. How to face Rahu and Shani mahadasha?
#SriSri: See, this Rahu dasha, Shani dasha, don’t think they are very bad things. If you are meditating, if you are centered, if you are on spiritual path all the dashas will do only good things to you. Got it? People think ‘Oh, shani dasha is very bad.’ You know what Shani dasha does? It puts you towards the spiritual path. If you are stuck in small things, it relieves you from there. If you are already in knowledge, wisdom, Shani dasha doesn’t do anything wrong.

In life, there are always ups and downs. Some good things happen, some things which you don’t like happen. But every incident is an opportunity for you to grow stronger, grow taller. That’s all what it does. So don’t worry about Rahu dasha, Shani dasha and all.

Q. Gurudev, when we continuously chant mantra, Guru mantra, then does it have any effect on our life?
#SriSri: Yes, definitely. But you should not chant continuously. This is wrong. Do you continuously take bath? You take it only for some time, right?
If you chant mantra for some time then it makes you strong, that is why it is called ‘mantra’. If you do it for some time, then that is okay, 10 – 15 minutes, half an hour, that is sufficient. If you do it continuously then you might become dull. If it comes automatically then it’s okay, but you should not do it for a long period.
That is why it is said that ‘mantra snaan’ (bath in chanting). If someone listens to music all the time, then his brain stops working. Similarly, one doing Mathematical calculation only and does not listen to music then his personality is dull. We have left brain and right brain. And to balance left brain and right brain, we have Sudarshan Kriya and all these. If we see from scientific perspective, then one should listen to music for some time, discuss for some time, think for some time, then it will be an all round development. Jai Gurudev. ðŸ˜Š
