Meeting the Guru- An experiential feeling

It is an exhilarating and an experiential feeling meeting one's Guru.  The mother is the first Guru. But the Guru in one's life transports a person to a different space altogether.
It is imperative to have a strong Sankalpa / intent to meet the Guru or the Master.  The Sankalpa should be extremely pure and  the seeker needs  to totally sublimate his ego and all  desires before he can approach the doorstep of the Guru.  The  disciple/ shishya/  devotee needs to be possessed with messianic zeal and enthusiasm while approaching the Master. The Guru is the doorway which shows us the reality and the ultimate truth.  He personifies divinity  which can be seen only through the eyes and the grace of the Master.
Sankalpa means conception or idea or notion formed in the heart or mind , solemn vow or determination to perform, desire , definite intention , volition or will.
The very presence of the Master annihilates Karmas from our lives . Besides  negativity and antipathetic thoughts automatically  dissolve in the presence of the Master. That is the grace of the Guru. This  is nothing but sheer magnanimity on part of the Guru. Guru is always ready to embrace and accept us and remove the dust of ignorance which smears our bodies, minds and souls. The devout needs to expand his vista to experience both the gravitas and childlike mirth of the Guru.
On the 13th, I boarded  train number 12785( Kacheguda to Bangalore).  I was high spirited and charged up  to have the Darshan of   H. H . Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.  The moment I alighted from the vehicle , a message flashed on the mobile,  that Gurudev in all magnanimity had agreed to grant Darshan on the 14th of August at 4.30 pm. And for some reason , the appointment does not take place on the 14th , I would certainly  have the Darshan of His Holiness on the 15th.  As I was escorted by the station personnel to my coach , my mind was burbling with enthusiasm. Suddenly I glanced at a book on Gurudev at  a book stall.
On several occasions I have boarded trains to Bangalore and other places from Kacheguda station, but never have I seen a book on H. H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the station. The portents were efficacious and positive I reckoned.  On the train I met a co-passenger who  resides in Bangalore and was talking about the Master. Thus the atmosphere was suffused with spiritual energy which bode well.
Next day, I reached at the appointed time at Kashyapa( Secretariat office of  the Art of Living Ashram) and was given  a slip to proceed to Badri Vishal. Those familiar with the Art of Living International Ashram , know the location of Badrivishal. It is in close proximity to Ganga where Guruji  stays during the day before retiring to his abode for the night.  The small mind was fixated  on having the Darshan of Guruji at Ganga. The numbers swelled at BadriVishal and there was a fleeting thought that  Guruji would come this place to grant audience. 'Ever place is holy and you have been to Ganga on several occasions wrestled my mind,'Thoughts keep bombarding the arena of mind  mind. There were two senior trustees with me, who proceeded to Ganga. For a moment I thought should I break  the protocol and rush to Ganga . But saner counsel prevailed and I remained at BadriVishal and started doing Nadi Shodhan Pranayama ( alternate nostril breathing), to purify myself, control my thoughts and remain in the present moment.
Ina short while , Vishal Guruji's secretary came to BadriVishal and started reading out names. The heart beat increased in anticipation and as my name was announced ,  everything just dropped and it was a feeling of let go.......... This is the feeling and an  emotion a person is engulfed and encompassed with on completion of Long Sudarshan  Kriya. The feeling of just let go. A feeling of becoming truly  hollow and empty.
And then came  the unique moment of seeing Guruji in flesh and blood ,  in the physical form. Guruji then acknowledged  the presence of the devotee by making an eye contact , smiling and called out my name. It is verily  a wonderful feeling of union. This is Yoga- Yuj( a union with the Divine).  And I braced myself by stuttering and uttering that what an amazing feeling it was to see him in the physical form after a period of two months. Every seeker just desires to be in his presence and all the negativity seamlessly gets purged.
That night Roop Kumar Rathod and his wife Sonali sang . And according to me they were in so  much in awe of Guruji that perhaps could not do justice to their talents. Their gazes were only  transfixed at the Master.  As the sun sank, the sky was crimson red , a few birds chirped  and Gurudev conducted a sublime meditation.
Next day , I could witness MahaRudra Homa and listen to Guruji's exposition of Chapter 11 of Bhagvad - Gita, In this chapter Lord Krishna reveals his Divine form- Vishwaroopa Darshan to Arjuna.    It was an ethereal experience and all those present imbibed the positive energy and synergy.
'Let no man in the world live in the delusion. Without a Guru none can cross over to the other shore,  wrote Guru Nanak'.' Jai Guru Dev

Looking forward to meeting Guruji again . Any place any time and as many times as possible.
