WORLD CULTURE FESTIVAL 11th to 13th March , 2016 Delhi

WORLD CULTURE FESTIVAL 11th -13th MARCH, 2016
The period and setting was prior to the conquest of India by the East India Company and the foundation of the British Empire. In the halcyon days prior to the subjugation, our economy, culture and spirituality had attained a summit.
Be it the field of science, culture or economically India had made rapid progress in comparison to Europe, which was yet to witness liberation and emancipation. Together, India and China contributed more than 70% to the world GDP.
But almost two centuries later these countries were left impoverished. Meanwhile China leapfrogged with their brand of ‘market communism’.
In order to remain abreast with the scorching pace set by the Red Dragon, the elephant has now adopted some bold moves. In that direction, the Prime Minister has launched the “Make in India” campaign, at the pivot of which are the 4Ds- deregulation, democracy, demography and generating demand.
H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in his talismanic manner, is spiritually rejuvenating the country and the world. The corner stone of this modern day spirituality are – Sadhana, Seva, Satsang and Smile. Gurudev in an epiphanous approach is “Making India” the Spiritual Capital of the world.
Between the Modi’s economic model and Gurudev’s spirituality lies the Gross National Happiness Index of Bhutan.
Well aware that happiness is the bedrock of spirituality, Guruji always poses only one question to the seeker, “Are you happy?” Truly he has been spreading waves of happiness across India and the globe.
Waves of happiness, suffused with spirituality will embrace millions of followers who will gather on the banks of the Yamuna to celebrate the World Culture Festival, from the 11th to the 13th of March, 2016.
The event also commemorates 35 years of yeoman service to humanity by the Art of Living, which has a following in 155 countries.
The congregation at the World Culture Festival will include peacemakers, spiritual leaders, law makers, politicians and artists under one roof spreading the message of peace and harmony.
Around 3.5 million people are expected to gather and celebrate the rainbow of rich cultural traditions - a pot-pourri dance, music, arts, cuisine, yoga and meditation.
The gargantuan task of assembling more than 25000 artistes who will perform in harmony to the assembled multitudes is sheer Mandrake like magic, which can be conjured only by Gurudev.
The atmosphere will reverberate to Vedic incantations, a centuries old inaugural tradition. The chanting of hymns would be followed by an ensemble of traditional Indian dance forms from Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali and Kuchipudi to Odissi.
Different states of India will showcase their rich heritage, culture and dance forms to clockwork precision. The artistes have toiled hard and endured several hours of practice to achieve perfection. They are in pursuit of excellence to enthrall the Master and followers.
The foreign complement ranges from the Horo dance of Bulgaria, African beats, Whirling Dervishes from exotic Turkey, Awa Odori from the land of the Rising Sun, Brazilian Samba ( which inspires their footballers to excel at any stage) and the Russian, Belarussian and Lithuanian dance formats.
South-east Asia will be represented by the Filipino traditional dance and Mongolian and Indonesian performances. Nepal and Sri Lanka, our SAARC neighbours will add spice to the exotic menu. The USA will   treat those assembled with high energy and eclectic Hip Hop dances.
The performances would be interspersed with grand symphonies, Rabindra Sangeet and Sufi music from Pakistan. The piece de resistance would be ‘Cosmic Rhythm‘, a confluence of over 3000 artistes from across the globe.
High octane dance performances and mellifluous musical renditions would be tempered by Yoga and meditation sessions conducted by Gurudev.
March 11th to 13th will see Art of Living host global humanity to a spectacular ensemble which will surely remain etched in the memories of those present.

See you in Delhi. JGD
