Feelings

Feelings aren't real --> Does this apply to only the negative feelings? or is it more generic ?
I would like to hear your thoughts and take on the positive 'gut' feelings (so-called) that guide us in making numerous decisions everyday, and, also the negative 'gut' feelings that kind of tell us of something that is impending and better to be refrained from.

Weight loss - Japanese technique as received

Weight Loss: Follow THIS Japanese long breathing technique to lose weight
Weight loss means healthy eating and physical workout every day without fail. However, there are certain tricks and tips that can help you to amp up the speed of your weight loss. Earlier we had talked about how you should know your body type and follow diet and workout accordingly, how you can follow bedtime rituals which can again aid in weight loss. Just like these two, today we are sharing a Japanese weight-loss hack. We had earlier shared the Japanese hack of the Hara Hachi Bu and Japanese Tabata exercise.
Today we are talking about another Japanese method called Long-Breath Diet and it was discovered by an actor named Miki Ryosuke. In this Japanese weight-loss method, you have to follow this two-minute long-breath diet and you can shed 10 to 13 kgs in a matter of few weeks. If you are thinking about what to eat in this diet then let me tell you that there is no food involved here and it is just a simple yet effective breathing technique.
So, how Mr Miki discovered this super cool and easy method? As per reports, Mr. Ryosuke was once struggling from back pain and he was prescribed some exercises by doctors for relief. After doing the exercises, he realized not only the exercises helped him to eliminate back pain but also helped him to lose 13 kilos in a few weeks.
This method involves inhaling for three seconds and exhaling for seven seconds. How it works? For the unversed, the fat contains oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen and when we breathe, the oxygen reaches fat cells and in turn, divides them into carbon and water. Basically, the more oxygen your body uses the more fat you burn.
How to do the 2-minute long-breath diet exercise?
Stand still with one leg put forward and the other one behind.
Now strain your buttocks and transfer your body weight to your back foot.
Slowly start inhaling for 3 seconds and also lift your arms above your head.
Now exhale forcefully for 7 seconds while you strain your body muscles.
Perform this exercise every day for 2 to 10 minutes.
Apart from weight loss, this exercise will also help you to strengthen body muscles and boost metabolism.

CATCHING WILD PIGS*

CATCHING WILD PIGS*

Karl Marx once said,
"Remove one freedom per generation, and soon you will have no freedoms and no one will have noticed."

One day while the class was in the lab, a professor noticed one young man,  kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him that he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country, who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.

Then, the student looked at the professor and asked a strange question,

"Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punchline. The young man said that it was no joke.

"You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food.

When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. At first, they are scared, but when they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly, the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor,

"That is exactly what he sees happening in many countries. The governments keep pushing us towards Communism/Socialism and keep spreading the free corn out in the form of programmes such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops, welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time."

One should always remember two truths:

1. There is no such thing as a free lunch, and

2. You can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

If you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy, there is hope.

If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then God help you when the gate slams shut!

"Most of the problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living!

Story Mirror- Stories and Quotes .

Jealous

*Zohnerism* - as received

*Zohnerism* -  all about the twisting of simple facts to confuse people.

In 1997, 14 year old Nathan Zohner presented his science fair project to his classmates, seeking to ban a highly toxic chemical from it’s everyday use.

The chemical in question? Dihydrogen monoxide.

Throughout his presentation, Zohner provided his audience scientifically correct evidence as to why this chemical should be banned.

He explained that dihydrogen monoxide:

Causes severe burns in while it’s in gas form
Corrodes and rusts metal
Kills countless amounts of people annually
Is commonly found in tumors, acid rain etc.
Causes excessive urination and bloating if consumed
Zohner also noted that the chemical is able to kill you if you depend on it and then experience an extended withdrawal.

He then asked his classmates if they actually wanted to ban dihydrogen monoxide.

And so 43 out of the 50 children present voted to ban this clearly toxic chemical.

However…this chemical isn’t typically considered toxic at all.

In fact, dihydrogen monoxide is simply an unconventional name for water.

Nathan Zohner’s experiment wasn’t a legitimate attempt to ban water, but instead an experiment to get a representation of how gullible people can really be.

Also, all of the points that Zohner used to convey his point were 100% factually correct; he just skewed all of the information in his favor by omitting certain facts.

One journalist eventually dubbed this event as ‘Zohnerism’, where true facts are misled towards false conclusions.

And this occurs a lot more often than you think, especially when politicians, conspiracy theorists, etc., use proven facts to persuade people into believing false claims.

The fact that people can mislead, and be misled so easily, is highly unsettling.
