Shadi Lal's sons bought his shroud from Delhi and only then his last rites could be performed. 👉🏻 Shobha Singh and his father Sujan Singh (after whom Kot Sujan Singh village in Punjab and Sujan Singh Park in Delhi are named) were granted thousands of acres of land in many parts of the country, including the capital Delhi, a lot of money as well as crores of rupees of govt. contracts. (This was a time when someone having one lakh rupees was respectfully known as Lakhpati). 👉🏻 Shobha Singh's son Khushwant Singh started journalism as a pastime, and started making relations with big personalities. 👉🏻 Today the school which is called Modern School on Barakhamba Road near Connaught Place in Delhi is on Shobha Singh's land and was once known as "Sir Shobha Singh School". 👉🏻 Khushwant Singh tried his best to prove his father as a patriot, visionary and nation-builder using his contacts. 👉🏻 Khushwant Singh also tried to prove himself as a historian and explained many incidents in his own way. 👉🏻 Khushwant Singh has accepted that his father Shobha Singh was present in the Central Assembly on 8 April 1929 when Bhagat Singh and his companions threw smoke bombs.
