I'm 74, am I still young or just middle age? You are well into elderly. You haven’t been “young” for about 50 years, so put that thought out of your head. At 74, in order to call yourself “middle aged”, you would need to reasonably expect that you might live to be 148. Given that the current record for human lifespan is 122, I’d think that is a considerably less than reasonable belief.
