Celebrated 9 days before Diwali on 'Kartik ki Chauth' 4th new moon day. Women eat pre-dawn 'Sargi' & fast totally till moonrise

Began as a festival for celebrating friendship bond/ bless Karvas (big earthen pot) as wheat sowing starts, became prayer for husband's longevity
