Was the entire Narayani Sena killed? Why did Krishna give them to Duryodhana knowing they will be killed? Krishna wanted to destroy the Yadavas. The Yadavas had became too arrogant and had became a burden on earth. So he caused the Narayani sena to be destroyed in Kurukshetra war and then using the curses of Gandhari and Brahmanas caused the Yadus to kill each other at Prabhasa. Krishna wanting to destroy the Yadavas is mentioned many times in the Mahabharata but Bhagavatam has the most detailed statement Through their valour, courage and prosperity, this lineage of the Yadus wished to devour the world. But I have checked it, just as the shoreline holds back the great ocean. If I leave without destroying this insolent lineage of the Yadus, the world will be destroyed by their surging flow. Because of the curse of the brahmanas, the destruction of the lineage has now started. O Brahma! O unblemished one! When it is over, I will visit you in your residence.” Chapter 6, 11th Skandha, Srimad Bhagavatam. Destruction of Narayanas was the first step in the goal of eventually destruction of the Yadus. During the kurukshetra war, Narayani sena became part of the large Samsaptaka army that attacked Arjuna. Arjuna slew all of them There were those who were reared in Gokula. They were extremely well versed in fighting. Many thousands of them arrayed themselves as masses of samshaptakas. All of them approached Partha and went to Vaivasvata’s eternal abode. 1154 (4), Karna Vadha parva, Mahabharata.
