1-27 Quatrains
3rd Quatrain - Gurudev a thrill passed as I read this verse and the interpretation. Last evening as I was reflecting on the previous verse my nagging mind dwelt on Desire. How to erase and reach a state of desirelessness. My Vipassana course came flooding back. Noble Silence was the answer. This reaches the aspirant to a state of deep contentment. Yes when one does not give into temptations Sublimation happens rest follows irrespective of reincarnation or not one can reach rather attain Bliss right in this Birth. 4th The journey needs to be inward always. Where in lies all mysteries of ones life. This can be achieved only in solitude. Recall the mighty Ocean. One can see only waves and total confusion. Deep down calm sets in no more ripples ,one discovers multitude of gems. So also in solitude comprehension takes over mind is dissolved true understanding of events take place. The same events during outward journey tend to create problems Mind reacts at times violently. The senses become so strong the seeker forgets to discriminate. Loses self control in the bargain ends up as a loser. Taking time off drawing into the SELF into the Region of total Silence the same confused mind gets chiseled prompting one to ignore the problematic events letting go and move on. Acceptance takes over peace dawns relationships smoothen. Supreme Bliss engulfs the Seeker. That is the sacred Breath of Life. Gurudev Me the Moses you Jesus guiding me through the thorny path into the bed of fragrant Roses. With grateful thanks.
5th Gurudev the reflections of the previous verse holds good here aswell. Withdrawing from the demands of the "Senses" diverting all attention to the Self within. Eyes are to see not to look. The moment one starts to look attraction to the external elements result leading to Pain and pleasure. Short lived ,at times ending up with agonizing experiences.unless one goes through this stage the intoxicating experience of true Bliss cannot be comprehended. Holy Communion happens by withdrawing from the dictates of the senses . Unfolds the Divine Cosmic Conscience both intoxicating and fragrant.in all its splendour. Once experienced it becomes easy to withdraw.Amidst chaos and confusion one is reposed in the Self. The serenity Siddharth Goutam attained to become Buddha the Enlightened. Hurray.
6th Desire is the root cause of every problem. Satisfy one desire another springs up. Never ending. Hence self discipline is warranted .This seems difficult initially once wisdom dawns this exercise becomes easy. Very soon awareness happens. The aspirant avoids situations causing problems effortlessly. Visualise the Snail mechanism ,automatically withdraws into itself when confronted with a hurdle. Again moves on. This does not spell self denial only a positive effort to tread the right path. Indulging in the dictates of the Senses binds the aspirant where as withdrawal sets him free. Clarity sets in stops yielding to impulses. A mature aspirant emerges now paying all attention to the Promptings of the Inner Cosmic Conscience. Contentment and everlasting Joy will knock at the door of the aspirant. The whole Canvas of human existence unfolds. Human experience enables the aspirant to accept all shades in proper perspective with deeper faith in the Self undaunted will face every challenge. Will now be able to Listen to the sweet strands and tones of the Nightingale because The aspirant has consumed the Nectar offered by the Cosmic Conscience Moves on. No more expectations.Just discharging ones duties. Deeper insight helps the aspirant bask in the revitalising Joy that is everlasting. With grateful thanks
7th Gurudev Lovely
Err is human. Immediate reaction is to shift the blame from the self. Owning the responsibility demands immense courage, once achieved nothing can daunt the aspirant. Krishna through Gopica vastra Harana taught humanity that "shame " is the subtlest form of Ego. Inhibition prevents the aspirant to admit openly, justifying leads no where , repetition of mistakes keep happening. Putting a halt to such vicious cycle /circle however difficult proves profitable in the long run. One comes clean and FREE. Heaving a great sigh of relief. Faith in the Self and Courage are true tonics. One can hide from the world but not from the Divine Consciousness within. One turns into a hypocrite living in guilt. Casting off the false garment of Ego alone is the answer. Once the aspirant overcomes body consciousness however freezing it may be he needs no cover. Can stand stark naked . This is letting go and moving on . True art of living.Life now looks beautiful , hurry and try to live every moment past is dead and gone future is an unknown phenomenon stop brooding catch the beautiful butterfly enjoy every moment performing the task assigned ,through right understanding of ones own role on this Earth. The All Pervasive Cosmic Energy so Resplendent ever eager to carry one through. Hands up and surrender passage will become safe. No more doer ship. Bliss and Bliss alone Remain attaining the saturation point which the True Goal.
8th That which has a beginning has to end. The physical aspect whether created or manifested will cease to exist. Efforts are made not to get involved ,or get attracted to the mundane by the Believers in reincarnation . Do not wish to stray away from the purpose of life. Their Goal is to transcend into the Eternal never again to return. Very soon they comprehend the futility of human existence. Realising soon from dust they come and unto dust they return. They turn observers,appearing to get attracted to the pleasures coming their way, in reality they are ever in the intoxicating "Samadhi" state. How soon they reach such a state depends on the will power of the aspirant. When one starts to look or listen ,the Mind at once start to analyse, a chain reaction takes place one gets entangled. The Seeker needs to cultivate the attribute of detached attachment. The beauty around captures the attention , to succumb is foolish,realising soon that this is only a temporary phenomenon will lift up the hearts to that Divine Spark of Cosmic Consciouness with in. Reaching the Samadhi State never to return again.It is much simple for the non believers . Discharging ones duty to the best of ones effort with out expectations. Soon with out even realising the reach the Sate of Samadhi. Concentration is just on the task before them. Jai Gurudev
9th Siddharth Goutam on attaining Nirvana did not permit" himself" to be consumed by the Cosmic Consciousness. He prostrated to his Mother ,in deep reverence and gratitude,She was instrumental for his physical being, which was instrumental in turn for him to attain Emancipation and Salvation. He returned to share his experience to help humanity,to utilise this precious vehicle to reach , rather transcend, to unite with the Divine. By observing the River he realised the relevance of his physical being. Starting as a trickle keeps flowing to unite and losing its identity in the Mighty Ocean. Had not Ramakrishna Paramahamsa brought back Naren from that State ! Humanity would have lost a Precious Gem "Swami Vivekananda" Paramahamsa needed him to enlighten humanity. They embraced poverty deliberately, teaching the relevance of "Detachment". Mind is instrumental for all aberrations. Once it is erased through" Sadana" wisdom dawns, the aspirant withdraws from all attractions and temptations. Will start to respect ones own Self , prevents from indulging in material and the mundane. Realises he was born free and has to return to the sacred FREEDOM. Will refrain from becoming a Status Seeker or imitate the Jones. Remain truly content with his lot. Death he realises is the Ultimate TRUTH. Will Observe Arya Maunam, which helps to dissolve the Ego into the SELF within. He turns Serene Selfless ever HAPPY. Truly understand the purpose and Goal of this precious LIFE. Becomes Compassionate overcomes all prejudices. Will no longer yield to the contradictions , dualities, will come through the Maze refreshed and successfully. The Path is not smooth yet he moves on because he is now focused . Goal is crystal Clear. ENLIGHTENMENT happens. Jai Gurudev
10th Mind is ones best friend or the worst enemy.( Vaasanas) ,traits and tendencies keep bugging and nagging the aspirant. These are the out come of both good and bad deeds committed by the individual prompted by the Mind. A conscious effort has to be made to eradicate them completely . They act as speed breakers, ignoring and moving on will not help as they keep following like it or not. Rich or poor one cannot escape the ill effects of these. Poor has nothing to lose, engrossed in his daily chores soon attains super conscious State effortlessly, because the All Merciful intervenes. Having possessed the Supreme ,the mundane world with all its material splendour will no longer distract him . He is capable of discriminating and remain fully satisfied. At times Ignorance is Bliss. Mind the true friend is at total rest.In contrast it is a great struggle for the rich. All the wealth at his disposal are only hurdles. Additionally, the subconscience a store house of thoughts and memories create further problems. His condition becomes pitiable, He needs to realise his status will take him no where before death over takes him he needs to shift his attention from the mundane to the Supreme Super Conscience. Erase the mind ,stop travelling with the thoughts cropping up from the Subconscience reach out to the Everlasting Self with in.
11th Confronted by problems , immediate recourse is to find refuge by indulging in short lived pleasures of life. Goal is already set and available. How to attain that/reach the same? How to discriminate! Finding permanent solutions alone is the answer. There is a spiritual solution for every problem. Awareness of this knowledge will enable humanity to discard the mantel of false ego and face every challenge with refreshed vigour. There can be no short cut,seemingly difficult initially once the first step is taken with firm determination to reach the GOAL nothing will stop him. Failure is the stepping stone to Success. Every experience teaches a lesson. Tools are available , how and what to choose. Yudhishtar desired to know as to how one will overcome a serious problem. Krishna scribbled a message on a leaf ,handed it to him saying " open this when you encounter a problem,and are at a dead end" . Face to face with a problem he opened the leaf , it read "Even this will pass". Problem was there but he no longer was experiencing it instead he was filled with such relief hither to Unknown. That moment of intense Joy, true Communion with the Eternal Truth Happend. Life is filled with thorns Yet the beautiful Rose Blooms. Nature provides so many such antidotes. Wise can perceive . Visualising the true perfection with in very soon he experiences the Divinity. The intoxicating situations now seem stale. Realising this ,attempts are made to erase the Mind and overcome desires. This and this alone will reach the aspirant into the Super Conscious State. True Yoga Happens. Jai Gurudev
12th Doing ones best and leaving the rest to Destiny". Visualise a class room, How to turn a noisy naughty class into sweet sound of music!! The Enlightened Teacher will bring to bear the principle of authority ,wearing a Nice Smile disarms the negative behaviour and attitude of the students. Tutour, Student and the Subject become ONE. True Meditation takes place. This state requires tremendous will power and Confidence in the Self, concentrating on the subject matter to be conveyed,not heeding or yielding to the negative thoughts springing up as to whether the students will appreciate ? That belongs to the future an unknown fact. Awareness of this helps the Teacher, tuning into the inner resources and conveying the subject ,making it really interesting. No more Din Just Silence in Sound will be the Outcome. Utilising the resources that are available to the best of ones ability,not craving to acquire unnecessary things ,will bring in contentment. Naren approached Paramahamsa with a problem that he is unable to meditate because of the Noise. He was then asked to concentrate on the Noise. Soon he realised once established in the Self and the Inner resources nothing can daunt him. How did I climb all those steps of the Ganga Ghat? As I was about to start Kamu said just pay attention to the step in front ,don't look up. Sounds simple but it is the Gospel Truth. When I reached the top,a feeling that I conqoured the Mighty Himalayas finding myself on the peak of Mount Everest. Thank you Kamu . All attention to the PRESENT. Greatest Gift of the Divine. 13th Temptations Galore! The discriminative power one is endowed with enables the Seeker to move away from worldly attractions , "pleasures " very easy to obtain soon turn sour, the law of diminishing returns follow hand in hand. Any thing in excess leaves a bitter taste. Life is full of complexities, so simple to be carried away by not paying attention to the Inner Voice of Conscience. One encounters the Garden of Eden at every step, every turn. Past experiences provide lessons not to yield to the Wants of the " Senses". Application of the principle Eat to Live and not Live to Eat. Wisdom dawns,suddenly one becomes aware of the futility of mundane materialistic attractions which had been binding humanity, landing them into situations to keep committing mistakes. Perceiving the Bliss that is available by turning away from all the useless Distractions is the True Goal. Visualise an earthen pot immersed in a river. Shallow mind says water in the Pot! Forgets the River. Just break the Pot it is the river all the Way. What is keeping one away from the Bliss? The physical aspect and the dictates of the Senses. Casting off these will reach the Aspirant into the Eternal Truth. Just tap the inner resources. The Rose that Blooms amidst all the Thorns now Really is Majestic. 14th Life devoid of discipline is but a Fool's Paradise" Common knowledge! Scorching heat of the dessert melts away the snow in no time. Unless Enlightenment happens craving to satisfy the wants and demands of the human body continues. One day sooner or later it will turn into dust. Mind is so fragile seeks short lived pleasures. At times these do satisfy. Emancipation alone can draw the mind away. When this happens intuition takes over Master Pieces Emerge. Visualise Leonardo de Vinci' sketches ,the Last Supper. Ravi Verma's Damayanti. Michael Angelo's Pietta, The Tangore Temple where the shadow does not fall on the ground. Confined in the Agra Fort Shahjehan could still enjoy the beauty of the Taj by looking into a tiny mirror stuck to a pillar. The journey inward enables the Divine to Manifest which is everlasting. They did not need any infrastructure or class room knowledge, yet could uncover what is already existing. A slight shift from getting attracted to the materialistic world, to establish in the Self within. Jai Gurudev
15th Greed and Attachment are not ones true Nature" Yet they become Status Symbols. Hoarding start taking place. Some squander away on unnessasary items of no avail. They are so deluded that they forget bare hands they arrived ,and ultimately depart bare handed. Some are aware of this fact and want to return after death ,to once again indulge in enjoying the wealth. So short sighted, ignoring the true purpose of this precious life. The wise comprehends very soon the futility of hoarding. Swami Vivekananda narrates this truth in a simple and vivid manner. Two men were travelling through a dense forest one night. One of them realised how nervous his companion was, questioned him as to what was bothering him. He comes to know that he was carrying a rupee note and is afraid if it would be stolen. At once the wise tells him throw it away and feel free from fear of losing. Attachment drains out ones energy as it is accompanied by Fear factor. For survival basic needs suffice. This understanding will help mankind to live in peace and help divert all the energy towards Emancipation. Jai Gurudev
16th Life is but a jigsaw puzzle"Like a mirage it deludes. One moment it seems one smooth bed of roses ,at once lands on the path full of thorns. Siddharth Goutam standing on the banks of a flowing river, started to observe, realised ,a change is taking place, the river which he is seeing now is not the same the very next moment. This awareness made him arrive at the conclusion that Cell divides at the rate of 20 to the power of 20 every moment, degenerating followed by rejuvenation,death followed by life. This happened 2500 years ago. Recent empirical study at Berkley University arrived at the very same conclusion and the scientist responsible won the coveted Nobel Prize. Death is inevitable, the short life is full of Agony and Ecstasy. The Enlightened accepts these two facts will not get carried away by all the grandeur ,or get depressed when struck by tragedy. These are passing phases. That which bothers during wakeful state ceases to exist during deep sleep state. Problem exists, only the experience is different. Transcending from the Physical aspect to the Cosmic Conscience will solve the Puzzle to behold the Wonderful PICTURE of human existence. Jai Gurudev
17th One cannot escape Ones FATE" Power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely. Nothing on this Earth is permanent or Everlasting. Sooner one realises this and accepts can live in peace. Can be a mighty Emperor or a meek pauper the physical body of both is composed of the Five Elements. Any imbalance in these will manifest as disease. This vehichle is needed for the final Emancipation. Greed and lust of the wealthy getting lost in the mire of all the possessions ignores to take good care, succumb to Lion like Cancer and other diseases. Ignorance is fatal both for the Rich as well as the poor. Suffering is same. Nature will have the last Laugh. Only an Enlightened like Paramahamsa Yogananda can conquer these elements. He Knew when to depart from the earthly existence. Even after 20 days the Body remained as fresh as when he was alive. So wake up don't allow the deadly diseases attack or mock at you. Jai Gurudev
18th When the Mighty River is in spate,just surrender to that tremendous energy,one will reach the shore safely. Resistance saps out the energy making one weak and helpless. Prevention is better than cure. Natural calamities are common. Unaware if one is struck let go and surrender. Move away when there is time. Why do road accidents happen? Discipline, helps prevent, leaving on time moving with the flow,not trying to overtake will reach one to the destination. Again announcement of a VIP movement has been made. At the other end a strict unrelenting Boss. Choice is yours. Leave earlier than usual avoid frustrating traffic hold up.wait patiently at the other end with out having to face the wrath of the Boss. No agitation nor stress just peace prevails. This is the principle of acceptance. Ultimate Goal is to reach the "Tao"
Memories are both Positive as also Negative" The treasure trove is with in the Self and can be lifted only when the mind is Still. Noble thoughts can teach humanity many a lesson. Great Personalities who no longer exist can still inspire, and instil deep Faith and Confidence to face all the trials and tribulations. The devastation caused by battle with Kalinga ! wisdom dawned,Asoka withdrew, no longer a Conquerer,turned benevolent and a Noble Conquerer of human hearts. His message and inscriptions on the Pillars all over our country,above all our National Flag! Such memories ,turns one inward to draw upon all the hidden Mysteries of the Cosmic Manifestation. 19th Sat , Chit, Anand " Anand true Bliss is experienced in the Deep Samadi State. Even Yudhishtar the embodiment of Dharma had to cross the "Vaitharini" to unite with the Cosmic Conscience. Sense organs with hold the progress towards ultimate Salvation. Wordsworth just did not see the Daffodils. His inner Being perceived the real beauty of Nature,That insight aided and he could become a Great Poet. Oppenheimer 's reaction to the Trinity's test of the Atom Bomb! He exclaimed beholding that powerful Energy "Brighter than Thousand Suns" . The same very response of Arjuna 5000 years ago beholding the Cosmic Form of Krishna. How to harness the wavered nature of the senses to arrive at this State? Food is served on the table ,the aroma so tempting,the weak start hogging,the wise will enjoy the meal,by eating what is needed for his survival. On the physical plane the nervous system receives the messages of all the Sense organ, at once the "Chit" the inner Conscience keeps prompting the true nature so as to help the individual ,to exercise his discriminative power, not to yield to temptation. Paying honest attention to the true Self within will pass one through the Vaitharini of human existence. Beholding the true Beauty even in the most Destructive Elements. Jai Gurudev
20th Discipline and self control" Badam Halwa, Coca Cola , sheer thought whets the palate,mouth starts watering. By hook or crook manage to get them and eat with great relish. Past experience stares in the eye, they were the cause for stomach upset and soar throat . Yet unharnessed mind tempts to indulge. Repeated mistakes committed form bad habits, resulting in suffering. Fear grips. Awareness of what exactly is needed,for a healthy life both physical as also Spiritual,however difficult it may appear the true aspirant shifts his attention towards the true Purpose of his life and the Goal he has to reach. He realises how painful short lived pleasures are, moves forward to attain everlasting Joy. This calls for tremendous courage and will power. Once gained it is smooth sailing all the way for the Glorious Union with the Beloved Cosmic Being. Jai Gurudev
21st Cosmic Conscience too needs Entertainment" It's Manifestation assigned roles with a condition, presenting temptations, the karmic law with its cause and effects. Now who to be blamed? Sooner the player realises this fact he will soon discharge his assigned task/role to the best of his ability to transcend and rest in peace in the bosom of that Supreme Being. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa enlightened his disciples through simple and beautiful parables. The prostitute 's dwelling was opposite a temple. The Priest a pious and noble person,desired to reform her. Everyday when she visited the temple to offer her sincere prayer he kept telling her that she is sinning and has to change. Humbly she would nod with deep repentance in her heart seeking pardon silently . This continued of no avail. The Priest was fed up stopped telling her. Instead he kept throwing a stone when ever a customer visited her which piled up. Time passed after a long time he accosted her and pointed to a hill saying "this is your sin". Heart broken she dropped dead. Soon after the priest also passed away. His last journey was glorious with pomp and fanfare,.where as the same society which enjoyed her hospitality cut her body to piece and threw them to the dogs. The priest found himself in hell and her in heaven. He then questioned ! "Physically you were in my abode the temple,failed to discharge your assigned duties,your mind dwelt all the time on the sin of the prostitute, your being shifted from Me to her, your body received what it deserved being pious, She was honest to her profession as she had no other choice, Her true being always was reposed in Me seeking forgiveness. Her tainted body received what it deserved by the cruel society. Her inner being was pious and now she is in my bosom". Performing ones duty honestly with out the feeling of Doership,leaving the rest to the Supreme Cosmic Being,breaks the cycle of Karmic law ,leading the Seeker into the TRUE DWELLING. Jai Gurudev.
22nd Know Your True Self" only Radha could tell Narada dipping her toe in the cup he brought to alleviate Krishna's ailment ,when all the rest refused lest they commit a sin "Go tell the Cheat I am prepared to commit any sin but will not tolerate a split second's suffering of my Beloved". Meera on a different plane could fearlessly address when she was accused of several crimes on the verge to be condemned to death. "I am not this Body,I am Krishna's spouse,do unto me as you deem fit". Ramana Maharishi always wanted who ever approached Him to know who he really is. To recieve the Lotus Touch of the Divine , one has to cast off the attachment to the physical aspect. What perishes is the body. Strange though nothing is lost even in death. Body merges with the five elements. Atma with Paramatma. Comprehending the purpose of human existence enables one to understand ones role and relevance, enacts to the best of ones ability and depart peacefully truly Contented. Paramatma is the Author,Director and Producer. Leaving every thing to Him alone is the answer. Hands up total Surrender. Joy or Suffering knock at His Door. Feel Free and truly happy. Jai Gurudev
23rd Do not tarry,be ever prepared to depart" known fact One reaps what one sows. Cultivating noble habits will have noble demonstration effects on Posterity. Spending the time at ones disposal truthfully as also gainfully , leave behind fond memories. Bare hands we arrived and bare hands we depart too. Atma if not afflicted by Vasanas can be good or bad , will unite with the Paramathma otherwise will have to return to undo the traits of the previous incarnation/birth. Valluri Venkataramaiah a very noble person, never uttered a harsh word. When the time came for his departure he knew. He got a toilet constructed on the first floor for his wife who suffered from severe asthma. He knew after him no one will take good care of her. The last payment 5rupees to the labourer. He got his cot dismantled, got a mat spread out on the floor, sat on it and gave his last instructions to his son and 3daughters who were present. His only regret at that time was that he owes so much to his daughter Ganga who could not reach, who nursed him for two months at her residence in Madras. He lay down, a shiva Bhakta all his life closing his eyes chanting Om Namah Sivaya,peacefully he cast off his physical being. Vemavarapu Ramdas Pantulu , came to know of Venkateramaiah when he was looking for a girl in marriage to his eldest son a widower. Reaching Bapatla he received very good reports, and praises . He saw the girl,pretty but not fair in complexion. He knew his wife will not approve, He went by what he heard about VVR . He sent his son with strict instructions that he has to go only to see Ganga and return. He will be accosted by several persons to distract his attention, he should not succumb. Respecting his father's advise he obeyed to the letter the instructions. A thrill passes when such beautiful memories surface and a sense of gratitude that we belong to these two Noble families. 24th Jesus said "Blasphemy against me is forgiven not against The Holy Spirit".As a human being he defied even the 10 Commandments. Keep Holy the Sabbath day. All the Miracles were performed on Sundays. The orthodox would not pick up even a PIN on a Sunday. He turned into a Good Samaritan ". Me " refers to the physical where as the Holy Spirit His Cosmic Being.
Gibran in the similarly manner makes this distinction. Birth is through a physical Body be it human,animal sprouting of plants through seeds etc. Body that gives birth is the Medium, has no choice. In the Karmic Law Atma to erase the Vasanas both good as well as bad has to reincarnate. Vasanas /Traits are expressions of the (Desires and habits ) Sense Organs. Atma donning that body gets tainted. Hence the Life's longing happens. The physical body becomes the medium. Through the womb. "From" refers to the Cosmic Energy it Manifests/Creates. 25th Erase the Mind" Mind causes confusion. For a while the Seeker entertains a notion that the Saints and Sages who preach are Immortal .weak minded are attracted to the miracles(so called) they perform. A true Saint will help the seeker to become self reliant,and realise the same Spirit that is guiding the Saint is present in the Seeker as well.No one can escape the law of Life followed by Death. Dependency will snatch away the dignity of the Seeker. Dayanand's father had a lot of following. He asked every one to fast on the day of Sivarathri, All the devotees assembled in the premises of the temple,observing all the rules laid down. Dayanand started observing,the faith of the devotees caught his attention, he was shocked to see his father who was preaching. ,breaking all rules prescribed to the devotees. The Wise can at once perceive the ill effects of such futile discussions,becomes aware the clash is between the Egos where the voice of Conscience is suppressed . One succeeds to win the argument and leaves. The other gets hurt start brooding and entertain negative feelings even in the absence of the friend who scored a point had left, peace is disturbed. They meet after a along gap, the person having reacted is now not able to relate , feeling of hurt is holding him up, the other is supremely oblivious that his remarks hurt his friend. To relate as though nothing happened would be hypocritical. To avoid such situations and encounters , Buddha enlightened humanity, not to get agitated ,if that is not possible, just take a second off from the agitated mind close your eyes slowly start observing the breath,soon one feels relaxed,no more reaction,just acceptance happens,start living in the present ,realises past is dead and gone to brood is futile and foolish it only hurts and strains relationships. "Act do not React". The true Peace and Bliss are part and Parcel of the Being, Dwelling and Establishing in the SELF with in,withdrawing into that Supreme Silence one experiences True Bliss. 27th Sooner the better" Life with all its attractions distracts human mind. Tendency is to put off the search for "Truth". Caught up by day to day chores , one ignores to perceive the real Beauty of the Cosmic Manifestation. To dispel this state,a slight nudge can do the trick. Take time off start purposeful inquiry "why and what for are we really here". Enough all doors open, History,the company one keeps,Nature, Environment, Neighbour hood,and many such provide opportunity to commence inquiry into events leading to intuitive deep Meditation. Once in that Tavern having experienced the Divine Presence of the Cosmic Conscience the true Seeker emerges through the same door refreshed,and contented. The same day to day monotonous chores seem meaningful and will be able to discharge the responsibility enthusiastically. The choice was the Seeker himself, even if he has to face any criticism he will not be affected, he will accept with utmost humility. He will not escape nor shift the blame. This will have a tremendous demonstrative effect. Contradictions and contrasts do enable the Seeker to discriminate and follow the path suiting him,does his best and leaves the end result to the Super Conscience. Early 40s while in school observed the Irish Nuns ,their Selfless service, at home the commotion every morning at the dinning table. I started to question my self "why can't Amma perform the puja after all of us leave to our respective destination peacefully" she had to offer "Prasadam"to the Deity,first later food is served. At times we were getting late to the school ,just not to be done. This churned up the inner being "God is not in the Ritualistic Worship, He is the Embodiment of Love Service and Sacrifice" The Nuns left their home land to serve in a foreign country. Till this day I am able to follow the dictates of the inner conscience ,no rituals no superstition a calmness prevailed.Jai Gurudev
