*Waheguru Waheguru ji

*Waheguru Waheguru ji*
Some facts which are unknown to people:

1.The building of *Golden Temple* is constructed with Nanakshahi Brick, which is 1 inch thick, 3 inch wide & 18 inch long.
Now the speciality of this brick system is even if you manage to take out one brick from wall, other bricks stand unchanged & for removing next bricks you will have to apply same effort unlike modern Modular bricks.

The building of Darbar Sahib (only sanctum sanctorum) is a square shape of 40 ft x 40 ft. There is a 13 ft wide parikrama on all sides of it. Making entire building complex plan built inside sarovar a square of *66 ft x 66 ft.*

P.S. - You can see Darbar Sahib from Akal Takht but you cannot see Akal Takht from Darbar Sahib. (Deorhi is constructed in such a way.)
Symbolising Spiritual view is wider than Temporal view.

2. There is an accurate small Sun-Dial on the left side almost midway of the pathway from Darshani Deodhi.

3. The water of the *Sarovar* (The holy tank) is fed through an underground closed tunnel like canal. It is called Hanslee (also informally Sikhaan Wali Nehar).

4. The Sarovar has been cleaned 11 times since 1573 AD through Kaar Seva.

5. The ground floor of Akaal Takht building is called Kotha Sahib because that is where Guru Arjan Dev ji used to sit while construction work was going on.

6. Strangely Kotha Sahib is facing Golden Temple building but all the above stories above it are tilted axially towards east side. Symbolising that the throne of temporal power (Akaal Takht) can not face The Temple of God (Hari Mandir). This is a uniques concept in entire world.

7. Jaikara of 'Bole So Nihaal' is never raised inside Golden Temple.

8. From Lohri to Hola Mahalla there is historical rule to sing Basant Raag prominantly inside Golden Temple. Everyday first Hymn is from Basant Raag only during this period.

9. Electricity was installed inside Darbar Sahib in 1930. Earlier the light of lamps (Ghee deepak) was used for
hukamnaama in dark hours.

10. During the first world war, there was continuous series of akhand paath in the first floor of Darbar Sahib building by British Government (Praying for victory).

11. On 5 occasions of Gurpurabs 'Jalau' is organised for 2 hours in the Darbar Sahib. All the four door Kivaarhs are replaced by identical Golden Ones.

12. On the Arches of the first floor of the building of sanctum sanctorum, complete Japuji Sahib, Jaap Sahib & Sukhmani Sahib can be seen engraved.

13. Toshakhana is the place for storing Jalau ornaments. It has four keys. The wonderful thing is even if one has all the four keys one cannot open the Toshakhana lock because they are used in a particular order & every key opens lock only one fourth of a cycle. Unless the four quarters are complete, forget to open the lock.

There are a lot more unique aspects for which a large space is needed

MOM

Found this article worth sharing ——
My mom had a lot of problems. She did not sleep and she felt exhausted. She was irritable, grumpy, and bitter. She was always sick, until one day, suddenly, she changed.

The situation was the same, but she was different.

One day my dad said to her:

- I've been looking for a job for three months and I haven't found anything, I'm going to have a few beers with friends.

My mom replied:
- It's okay.

My brother said to her:
- Mom, I'm doing poorly in all subjects at the University ...

My mom replied:
- Okay, you will recover, and if you don't, well, you repeat the semester, but you pay the tuition.

My sister said to her:
- Mom, I hit the car.

My mom replied:
- Okay daughter, take it to the workshop, find how to pay and while they fix it, get around by bus or subway.

Her daughter-in-law said to her:
- Mother-in-law, I come to spend a few months with you.

My mom replied:
- Okay, settle in the living room couch and look for some blankets in the closet.

All of us at my mom's house gathered worried to see these reactions.

We suspected that she had gone to the doctor and that she was prescribe some pills of "I don't give a damn about 1000 mg."

She would probably also be ingesting an overdose.

We then proposed to do an "intervention" to my mother to remove her from any possible addiction she had towards some anti-tantrum medication.

But what was not the surprise, when we all gathered around her and my mom explained:

"It took me a long time to realize that each person is responsible for their life, it took me years to discover that my anguish, my mortification, my depression, my courage, my insomnia and my stress, did not solve their problems but aggravated mine.

I am not responsible for the actions of others, but I am responsible for the reactions I express to that.

Therefore, I came to the conclusion that my duty to myself is to remain calm and let each one solve what corresponds to them.

I have taken courses in yoga, meditation, miracles, human development, mental hygiene, vibration and neurolinguistic programming, and in all of them, I found a common denominator: finally they all lead to the same point.

And, it is that I can only interfere with myself, you have all the necessary resources to solve your own lives.

I can only give you my advice if you ask me and it depends on you to follow it or not.

So, from now on, I cease to be: the receptacle of your responsibilities, the sack of your guilt, the laundress of your remorse, the advocate of your faults, the wall of your lamentations, the depositary of your duties, who should solve your problems or spare a tire every time to fulfill your responsibilities.
From now on, I declare all independent and self-sufficient adults.

Everyone at my mom's house was speechless.

From that day on, the family began to function better, because everyone in the house knows exactly what it is that they need to do.

*Hubris vs Humility*

*Hubris vs Humility*

On the morning of the Battle of Waterloo on Sunday, 18 June 1815, Napoleon Bonaparte who was leading the French Army against the British army under the command of the Duke of Wellington, assured his soldiers, “I tell you Wellington is a bad general, the English are bad soldiers; we will settle this matter by lunchtime.”

Well, by the end of that day, Napoleon was defeated and that ended his rule as Emperor of France.

Around 100 years after Napoleon’s arrogant remark and defeat, on 15th April 1912, just before the Titanic was about to embark on its maiden journey, one passenger asked a ship’s agent for extra insurance on some valuables in her luggage. The agent replied, “Ridiculous. This boat’s unsinkable.”

Titanic’s Captain Edward Smith himself was asked about the safety of the Titanic. He answered – “I cannot imagine any condition which would cause a ship to founder. I cannot conceive of any vital disaster happening to this vessel. Modern shipbuilding has gone beyond that.”

Then, after the ship had struck the iceberg, a concerned passenger asked a sailor if they should do something about it. He replied, “Go back to bed. This ship is unsinkable.”

Move forward another 90 years and consider the example of Enron, and the e-mail that Kenneth Lay, then the CEO, sent to his employees in 2001. He declared, “Our performance has never been stronger, our business model has never been more robust. We have the finest organization in American business today.” That was less than four months before Enron filed for bankruptcy.

The point is that if you are repeatedly successful, there’s a temptation to believe that you’re no longer subject to human fallibility. But the honest and harsh truth is that in a world that is continually changing, every right idea or strategy eventually becomes the wrong one.

With an arrogant attitude, you cease paying attention to differing viewpoints. Confirmation bias takes its roots in your brain, and you screen out all the sounds that tell you how you’re wrong, and amplify those that tell you how you are right. Thus, it’s important to beware of hubris. When it bites, it bites hard.

Hubris is basically an overestimation of one’s own competence or capabilities. This is particularly true when the person is in a position of influence or power.
Most people think it will never happen to me. (The Optimism Bias)
And it might not to any great degree. Let’s hope it doesn’t.

But the thing about hubris is that you rarely think you have it until it’s already run an unhealthy portion of its course.
Staying humble will keep you from risking too much in a view of the future that may well turn out to be wrong.

Don’t be blinded by hubris.
A little humility can help you steer clear of disaster.
Be humble & stay blessed forever.

Alexander the Great decided to take a bath in the icy water of the river Cidnus (Now called ‘Berdan’). The following day he developed fever, and gradually it led to febrile convulsions. The royal physicians accompanying the king were very scared and reluctant to treat him as they knew the consequence of any glitch in the treatment could cost their life. A physician named Philip from Acarnania was bold enough and came forward to treat Alexander. He prepared a medicinal draught for the seriously ill king. When Alexander was about to drink this potion, a letter arrived from Parmenio, one of his military generals. The letter accused that Persian king Darius III bribed Philip to poison Alexander. Alexander read the letter, and with the paper still in his hand, swallowed the cup of medicine. After finishing the medicine, he passed the letter to Philip. Alexander the great recovered within a short time and conquered the world.

Many years later, in 1870, the Polish painter Henryk Siemiradzki described this incident in his painting. This story is so relevant for the present time. The story tells us about the importance of mutual trust between a doctor and a patient despite the harsh environment. If the trust is lost, no doctor will take the risk to treat a rare disease (how severe it is). And without the faith on his physician, no patient will progress towards recovery. Healing begins when both patients and physicians develop this trus

*THE GREAT CHASE - RABBIT Vs HUNTING HOUNDS* ( With a bit of Management lesson)

*THE GREAT CHASE - RABBIT Vs HUNTING HOUNDS*
( With a bit of Management lesson)

*The Salukis are pure-bred hunting hounds, used by the royalty in the Middle East, basically for hunting game animals. This breed of hunting hounds, hunt primarily by sight, rather than scent.*

This video, filmed by a drone, is of *THE GREAT CHASE by two fierce Saluki Dogs, behind a Rabbit.*

*The highlights of the chase, are the unbelievable speeds, the incredible acceleration, and the awesome manoeuvring by the Rabbit, to dodge & shake off the Salukis, from it's "tail".* Amazing display of *survival instincts!*

Watch how the Rabbit, with small lungs, and small feet, can be seen visibly struggling in the sands & over the sand dunes.

But, *the SWOT Analysis,* places the Rabbit at an *incredibly higher pedestal with respect to it's survivability features.*

*Rabbits have an excellent sense of smell, hearing & vision. They have nearly 360 degrees panoramic vision, allowing them to detect predators from all directions. They can see everything behind them & only have a small blind-spot in front of their nose. Rabbits have extremely strong hind limbs, which allows them to leap great distances. They can jump up to 1 metre high & 3 metres long.*

With this as the backdrop, *the big question remains:*

*Can the swift & ferocious Salukis, catch the Rabbit , before it manages to enter it’s burrow?*

This video is Exceptional...Amazing technology. The desert looks stunning!!!!

The chase is awesome!
*In the turn, or with "on-the-spot 180 degrees move", the Rabbit  is able to out-manoeuvre the Dogs completely.*

The Dogs too, are a sight to watch! *Over the last hillock, the Dogs do a clean leap, with over a metre clearance.*

Please do see the last portion of the chase, again. It's absolutely awesome ....

Origin of Surnames- As received

Origin of Surnames

What's in a Surname?!

The surnames Malhotra, Arora, Kapoor, Khanna, Chopra, Nanda, Khullar, Sodhi, Bedi, Sehgal, Thapar and Mehra belong to only one broader caste “ khatri “.

As per the Government of India records, "Khatri is a popular variant of the Sanskrit word Kshatriya, which was used to describe the warrior caste among the Hindus according to the Varanashram propounded by the Shastras".

According to the Britishers The Khatris were the backbone of Indian trade with central Asia. Due to the high values and good education they survived even in the hardest times of Aurangjeb and Shahjahan.

All the Sikh gurus were Khatri. Real names of gurus are

Guru Nanak Dev Bedi

Guru Angad Dev Trehan

Guru Amar Das Bhalla

Guru Ram Das Sodhi

Guru Arjan Dev Sodhi

Guru Har Gobind Sodhi

Guru Har Rai Sodhi

Guru Har Krishan Sodhi

Guru Tegh Bahadur Sodhi

Guru Gobind Singh Sodhi

Some of the Khatris have good history with their name and place as given below.

Arora : They belongs to the Aror town (near Sukkur ) situated in the Sind province of Pakistan on the banks of Indus river hence called Arora's. After the partition in 1947, maximum proportion of Arora's came to India.

Khanna : They belong to a small town Khanna in Ludhiana district of Indian Punjab. Khanna is a Punjabi word, which means one quarter (1/4 or 0.25). The city was named thus because it used to be very small, just a quarter of what a normal city should be. Khanna and Arora both are closely related to Khatri caste.

Kapoor : Kapoors are termed as descendents of Moon i.e. as white as moon. Camphor “ Hindi Kapur” is as white as full moon so termed as Kapoor. They belong to Kapurthala state of Punjab. Kapoor or Kapur is a surname in the Kaushal Gotra of the Punjabi Khatri community of India. Kapoors are Hindus in terms of religion and tradition, and belong to the Bahari Baradari, a sub-caste of Khatri .

Malhotra : Malhotra is a surname based on the name of a clan in the Khatri community. It is a modified form of Mehrotra, which is itself an extended form of Mehra (Panjabi mehra or Mera means 'chief' or 'master'). Founder of the Malhotra clan is said to have been called Mehr Chand.

Now I am giving the origin of other non khatri Indian Surnames. Answer could be little lengthy but I bet at the end of show you will enjoy.

Deshpande, Deshmukh, Kulkarni & Patil : All these surnames are found predominately in Maharashtra.

Deshpande is a surname having origins in Maharashtra. The surname is also used in Karnataka. It was a title conferred on officers responsible for record keeping at Pargana level (modern equivalent of district) .

The chief of the pargana were called Deshmukh.

Their equivalent at village level were Kulkarni (mainly accountants) .

The persons responsible for the development and security of village were known as Patil (Village chief).

Godbole : Godbole (Marathi : गोडबोले) is a surname from Kokanastha Brahmins or Chitpavan Brahmins from Western Maharashtra (Western Coast of India), and also used by Rajapur Saraswat Brahmins. Godbole actually means “meethi zuban bolne wale translation : sweet tongued” in Marathi.

Jain : This surname is the modified name of word jaina which was derived from Sanskrit word Jina or 'follower of Jina'. Jina, meaning 'triumphant', is an epithet for a saint of the Jain religion. They are mainly distributed in the Gujrat, Rajsthan, Western MP and North west Maharashtra.

Agrawal and Agarwal : Members of the Agrawal community are known for their business acumen and have for many years been influential and prosperous in India.

Agrawal means the "children of Agrasena" or the "people of Agroha ", a city in ancient Kuru Kingdom. Now it is near to the city of Hisar in Haryana said to be founded by legendery King Agrasena. He was among one of the greatest Kings of India. He was the descendant of Solar Dynasty who later adopted Vanik Dharm.

Where as Agarwals are slightly different from agrawals. According to a legend , earlier they were called as Agarwale means the inhabitants of the ancient city “Agar”. Agar is a small city located 65 kms from Ujjain. Agar was the most important city to the Parmar dynasty after Dhar and Avantika(Ujjain).

Sindhi : Unlike Hindus of India, who have a 'gotra', Sindhis often have a 'nukh', which means roots. Almost 90% surnames have been followed by “Ani” or “Ja” in Sindhis like Moolchandani, Bhavnani, Ramchandani, Advani, Raheja, Makhija etc. Ramchandani means the descendents of Ramchand, here Ramchand could be name of an ancestor or village. Same thing applies on the Juneja, Tuteja etc.

Khan : The ancient surname Khan is a contracted form of Khagan, from the Turkish language meaning "chief or ruler." It was originally a hereditary title born by early Mongol leaders, such as the legendary Genghis Khan, but is now widely used as a surname throughout the Muslim world.

Shetty : They are Hindus and Jains from the coastal areas of Karnataka and Cauvery belt. Primarily they are farmers and pastorals but now spreaded in the all business domains. They are different from cognate Seth or Sethi which were basically land lords.

Brahmins : All the Brahmins were given their last names on the basis of knowledge they possessed.

Dwivedi/Trivedi/Chaturvedi were known for the number of Vedas they expertise. Same is true for Tripathi also.

Upadhyay were those who had special skills of teachings and were the spiritual advisors of the king.

Vyas or Byas were those who had got an expertise in the recital of Bhagvat Purana and Bhagvat Gita.

Pandey was the title given to the chief priests (pandits) and those who had expertise in post death rituals.

Mishra was the title given to those priests who had expertise is all kind of Brahmin duties.

Parashar : They are the ancestors of one of the greatest scholar of vedic era “Parashara”. Ancient India was controlled by northern India therefore they are mostly found in North India.

Shukla was the title given to the reciters of the Shukl Yazurveda ( Yazurveda has two parts, Shukl and Krishn ).

Verma : Verma, Varma, Burma, Barma, Vurma, Barman, Varman are the same and one and mostly the inhabitants of India and South East Asia. In ancient culture “Verma “ title was given to the kshtriya warriors who were very firm, and shield like.

Yadav : The term Yadav (or sometimes Yadava) has been interpreted to mean a descendant of “Yadu”, who was a mythological king.

The term “Yadav” covers many castes which initially had different names, Ahir in the UP, Haryana, Bihar, Punjab and Gujarat, Gavli in Maharashtra and MP, Gola in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka etc. Their traditional common business was that of herdsmen, cowherds and milksellers all over the Indian subcontinent.

Srivastava : According to one explanation, the name "Shrivastava" originates from "Shrivastu", the former name of the Swat River, said to be the place of origin of this clan. Swat river is situated in the Khyber province of North West province. Srivastava is a common surname in Northern India, notably among Kayasthas. However, recent times have also seen this surname used in other communities. Spelling variations include Shreevastava, Shrivastav, Shrivastava, Shrivastva, Srivastav, Srivastva, Srivastava, Sriwastaw and Srivastwa

SHARMA JI  I Did a  lot of research for the origin of Sharma surname but got ambiguous answers. But most common and widely known sources suggests that “ancient sharma's were the upper class Brahmins who has achieved the highest level of concentrations. They were the peer Yogi's who were always in joys and known as accomplished well wishers. They were living in the shelters not in the houses during the ultimate years of their lives.” Later on due to the immense respect of Sharma surname, some non Brahmins and undeserving people also started using Sharma.

An alternative English spelling of the name used in the city of Varansi and the Indian states of Assam, Andhra Pradesha and Kerla is "Sarma". Some Assamese people also use Surma but that is due to the river “ Surma” flowing in the lower Assam and Sylhet district Bangladesh.

 Edit on some request

In the messages and comments some of the readers requested me to tell about Tendulkar surname.

Well I will tell you about this surname but take the bonus of Ambedkar, Gavaskar, Savarkar and Mangeshkar first. “Kar” means the suffix of the village associated.

Ambedkar : The original surname Ambavadekar comes from the native village ‘Ambavade’ in Ratnagiri district. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's original surname was Sakpal but his father registered his surname Ambadawekar in school. His Brahmin teacher, Krishnaji Keshav Ambedkar, who was fond of him, changed his surname 'Ambadawekar' to his own surname 'Ambedkar' to pronounce easily in the school records.

Gavaskar : They came from the Gavaswadi Village in Kudal Taluka (Kudal is a legislative seat also) in the Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra.

Mangeshkar : Earlier the surname of Deenanath ji (Father of great Lata Mangeshkar ) was Hardikar but he changed it to Mangeshkar in order to identify his family with his native town Mangeshi. Mangeshi is located near Priol Ponda at Goa-Maharastra border.

Savarkar : Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. His original surname was Bapat but his forefathers changed the surname in order to identify their family with their native village Savarwadi in Palshet village of Guhagar taluka in Konkan region. Name Savarwadi came from the plentiful trees of “Saanwari (or Saavari) in the area which is used to yeild a type of soft cotton Shevari

Morning muse.....

Morning muse.....

*By Wg Cdr Nasir Hanfee (Rtd)*

I can't resist sharing the story.

This was way back in 1998. Our PSLV missile program was in full swing . But it was being done clandestinely to avoid detection by US spy satellites . The program director was Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who we did not recognize at that time .

The cryogenic engines used were secretly shipped to Chennai port from where they were airlifted by our heavy lift helicopter..

If this helicopter was to fly straight from Chennai , it would have taken only 2 hours to reach the launch-site.  But to avoid detection by US satellites,  a zig zag route was worked out involving long halts at unscheduled places. A 2 hour flight due to this would take us 8 hrs of flying and 8 hours halt, but ensure no detection - a small price to pay.

Due to heavy load , our passenger carrying capacity was significantly reduced . We were able to carry only 12 supporting staff from missile program , including 2 sweepers to sweep and mop the constantly leaking fuel and oil from cryogenic engine. All 12 names were approved from highest echelon of government of India and the director was allowed only to change 2 sweepers, if required.

On the day of our departure, a gentleman with long grey hair approached us . " I have missed my flight and I have no choice but to travel with you all because I am required at launch-site " we had to refuse him because the names were cleared from high up and we could  neither make any changes , nor carry any extra passenger.

Just when we were about to start up , this man came to us running " Captain, the project director has kindly agreed to replace a sweeper with me . Here is authorization. Please take me on board " The Captain said Ok and he jumped on board like a happy child .

Our second halt was about 4 hours long. As we were sipping our tea , we saw this gentleman sweeping and wiping the floor . We saw Some of the senior scientists ran to him and have animated conversation but he continued doing his job.

One of the scientists then approached the Captain and requested him to order the sweeper not to sweep !!! " sir he is our project director , Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and you have to stop him please "

We were shell shocked . The Captain approached him but he simply said " I am travelling in the capacity of a sweeper and no one can stop me from doing my job "

At a loss as to how to deal with this situation , we remained passive spectator. On our next halt too , he did his duty. His simplicity bowled us over.

We dropped the men and machine at drop site and bid him good bye .

Many years later I received an invitation from Presidents house to visit Mughal Gardens to see how much work he had done on it and judge if he was a better maali or a better sweeper. I sent my regrets as I was out of country.

I met him after he retired as President and he remembered the episode .

Tributes to one of the greatest Indians I have ever met .

Have a great day !!!!!

Our Panchaganga System

OUR PANCHANGA GIVES EVERY YEAR A NAME AND ITS MEANING ....SEE THE NAME GIVEN TO 2020 N 2021 AND ITS MEANING ......THERE ARE 60 SUCH NAMES

Did you know that as per Indian Panchanga system, each year has a specific name? And that each name has a meaning? There are 60 names of years (Samvatsars). Each name replays after 60 years. The year typically begins in mid-April.

The year 19-20 named ‘Vikari’ lived up to its name by being a ‘repulsive’ year.

The year 20-21 was named ‘Sharvari’ meaning darkness and it did push the world into a dark place.

Now the ‘Plava’ year (21-22) is beginning. ‘Plava’ means that which ferries us across. The Varaha Samhita says: this will ferry the world across unbearable difficulties and reach us to a state of glory. And take us from darkness to light.

The year 22-23 is named ‘Shubhkrut’ meaning that which creates auspiciousness.

We can look forward to much better times if the names of this year and the next indicate what to expect.

🙏🏻 *GOD BLESS US*🙏🏻

SUNSET

As the crimson red sun sank, he planted a tender kiss on her lips.  They met first in the wombs of their mothers who sat on a bench. Later they were to kiss as children, teenagers and then as adults on the same bench. However the love of Radha and Rehman remained unrequited as the walls of faith separated them. One fine day they were to meet during college reunion and on the same bench exchanged rings. They were willing to run away from their spouses and children .But they were lying .Only the sunset was aware of this reality.

*Today is Buddha Purnima,* the day Buddha was born. He got enlightened, he attained nirvana and he died also on this same day. Today the moon seems 20% bigger than other times; it is a very big moon. It is a good occasion to watch the moon rise.

Buddha has left such a permanent mark on the planet for centuries to come, for people to remember the glory of the divinity.

Wake up the little Buddha inside you!

There is a little Buddha in everybody, and that Buddha is in the form of Siddhartha. Do you know who is Siddhartha? Before Buddha became Buddha, he was Siddhartha. He was wandering and lost but he had the spirit of enquiry in his heart.

Siddhartha, at a very young age understood that everything is sorrow. He said, “The world is all sorrow and I want to get rid of sorrow”, but he did not know the way. Everybody has this little Buddha inside of them (here referring to the burning spirit of enquiry), one only has to wake up to it.

Buddha’s first words after he got enlightened.

Today being Buddha Purnima, I’d like to tell you a little bit about Lord Buddha’s life.
When Lord Buddha saw the suffering in the world, he said, “Life has no meaning. If you have to become old, and you have to die, then what is the point in living!”
When he encountered a sick man, a dead man and an ascetic. He left his palace and sat in meditation for many years. After he attained enlightenment, for seven days he didn’t say a word. The angels and gods of the subtle world got worried. They said that after a long time a Buddha has come on the planet, why isn’t he speaking anything?
Buddha said, “The people who know, they know, and those who do not know, even by my speaking, will not understand. They are so busy making money, making relationships work, fighting, eating and sleeping that with my telling, nothing will get into their minds”.
All the Gods and angels argued with Buddha saying that there are some people who are on the borderline. If you just tell them, they will get it! There are people who have some idea, and who really want to know, for them you must speak. Then Lord Buddha stated speaking from that day; the seventh day.
On the seventh day, after the full moon, Lord Buddha started speaking and all he said was, “Everything is nothing!”
I want you to immediately experience one thing. Wake up and see till this moment, whatever has happened in your life for the last 30 to 50 years, is it not like a dream?
Take your mind forward and backward. Now fast forward it. You’re sitting here, you will go back home, have your dinner and sleep. Tomorrow you will wake up, brush your teeth, get on with your work. The next day will roll, the third day will roll and June will come. Then July, August, September, and the New Year party will happen. It’s all gone! All the days will be gone. Is it not like a dream? Could this be a dream, you reading these words? How do you know it is reality? It could be a dream! The present could be a dream, question the present. The future is like a dream. If you can manage to shift your attention and see this reality, you will see something above this. There is something above and beyond this, which remains, which is so beautiful. And if you see this, you gain such incredible strength, energy, love and beauty in your life out of it that nothing whatsoever can shake it.

What do you need to do? You need to simply wake up! Turn one switch off (mind), and turn the other one on (intuition). For a moment, wake up and see, this is all a dream, and discard everything. Immediately you get connected to the universal power, to the truth that you are made up of!

When you have to work with people, don’t use this philosophy, i.e., everything is nothing. You will not be able to do your business! However, keep this in mind – everything is nothing. This gives you inner strength, intuitive ability, happiness, contentment, love and compassion.

*Happy Buddha Purnima.*

A beautiful poem ..........*

*When I'm dead.*
*Your tears will flow*
*But I won't know*
*Cry with me now instead*.

*You will send flowers*,
*But I won't see*
*Send them now instead*

*You'll say words of praise*
*But I won't hear*.
*Praise me now instead*

*You'll forgive my faults,*
*But I won't know*.....
*So  forget them now*  *instead*.

*You'll miss me then,*
*But I won't feel.*
*Meet me now, instead.*

*You'll wish you could have*
*spent more time with me*,
*Spend it now instead*

*When you hear I'm gone, you'll find your way to my house to pay condolence but we haven't even spoken in years*.
*Look , listen and reply  me now.*

*Spend time with every person around you, and help them with whatever you can to make them happy, your families, friends and  acquaintances.*
*Make them feel Special because you never know when time will take them away from you forever.*

*Alone I can 'Say' but* *together we can 'Talk'*.

*Alone I can 'Enjoy' but together we can 'Celebrate*'
*Alone I can 'Smile' but together we can 'Laugh'*

*That's the BEAUTY of Human Relations*.
*We are nothing without each other*

A New Serenity Prayer as received

 A New Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the people I cannot change,
which is pretty much everyone,
since I’m clearly not you, God.
At least not the last time I checked.

And while you’re at it, God,
please give me the courage
to change what I need to change about myself,
which is frankly a lot, since, once again,
I’m not you, which means I’m not perfect.
It’s better for me to focus on changing myself
than to worry about changing other people,
who, as you’ll no doubt remember me saying,
I can’t change anyway.

Finally, give me the wisdom to just shut up
whenever I think that I’m clearly smarter
than everyone else in the room,
that no one knows what they’re talking about except me,
or that I alone have all the answers.

Basically, God,
grant me the wisdom
to remember that I’m
not you.

Amen

Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as received

Drr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great teacher, Philosopher and former President of India in whose honour Teachers' Day is celebrated , was an exceptionally witty man.

The King of Greece came to India on a state visit.  President Radhakrishnan welcomed him at Palam Airport.

. “Your Majesty! You are the first King of Greece to come to India on invitation.
The last time, Alexander the Great came uninvited.”
😃

Gandhiji: Don’t drink milk, which is the essence of beef.

Radhakrishnan: “In that case we all are cannibals. For we drink our mother’s milk, which is the essence of human flesh.”
😃

Winston Churchill while having a cup of tea said to Dr. Radhakrishnan:
Sugar is the only English word where "s" is pronounced as "sh"

Dr Radhakrishnan quipped: *"Are you sure?"*
😃

Once Winston Churchill hosted a State banquet in honor of Dr Radhakrishnan, who washed his hands before eating and used his hands for having the food while Churchill used spoons and fork.

Churchill could not stop himself from advising Dr. Radhakrishnan to use spoon and fork saying that they were more hygienic.

Radhakrishnan replied, “Since nobody can use my hand to eat, my hand is more hygienic than any spoon or fork you use

 *A beautiful message*

I noticed a child monk—he couldn't have been more than ten years old—teaching a group of five-year-olds. He had a great aura about him, the poise and confidence of an adult.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“I took their first class today,” he said, then asked me, “What did you learn on your first day of school?”
“I started to learn the alphabet and numbers"I said. "What did they learn?”
“The first thing I teach them is how to breathe.”
“Why?” I asked.
“Because the only thing that stays with you from the moment you are born until the moment you die is your breath. All your friends, your family, the country you live in, all of that can change. The one thing that stays with you is your breath.”
This ten-year-old monk added, “When you get stressed—what changes? Your breath. When you get angry—what changes? Your breath. We experience change of breath with every emotion change. When you learn to navigate and manage your breath, you can navigate through any situation in life."

*Inhale the beauty....*
*Exhale with Gratitude
