PINING SOULS FIND INDEPENDENCE ON REPUBLIC DAY

PINING SOULS FIND INDEPENDENCE ON REPUBLIC DAY
A miracle is an extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency or a supernatural phenomenon. This is what was experienced by sincere seekers, the devout and followers of the Art of Living hailing from the hamlet of Seranthangal, in interior Tamil Nadu and those from the bijou town of Thiruvanmallai- which gets its name from the central deity of the Annamalaiyar temple.
The lands of the hapless populace of the hamlet were parched, very reminiscent of the iconic film Lagaan. Crops were withering away at nature’s fury. They desperately sought divine intercession to overcome their woebegone situation.
The scheduled programme was to ferry H. H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and his group of fellow travellers from Bangalore to Neyveli Lignite Corporation and the famous Nataraja temple at Chidambaram. However, inclement weather altered the plans. Was this a signal of things to manifest- a Chidambaram rahasya?
The weather became tempestuous and the helicopter in which Guruji was travelling had to make an emergency landing and descended on the paddy fields of the drought stricken village, quite symptomatic of Lord Narayana seamlessly gliding the Pushpak Vimana to redress the grievances of the faithful.
As Mandrake conjures magical situations, the elements conspired to provide succour to the doomed people. After participating in Republic Day celebrations at Neyveli, the chopper was perforce grounded at Seranthangal village. Soon Guruji stepped out of the chopper and the skies opened to a thunderous downpour. People danced with gay abandon at Seranthangal village.
This was like the talismanic film Lagaan being re-enacted, where Aamir Khan despatched the red cherry out of the park and the denizens erupted with jollity as heavy downpour moistened the arid lands.
Today, Seranthangal village is triumphant with its prized possession- a borewell commissioned by an Art of Living teacher who also dons the hat of the Deputy Block Development officer. The gentleman, upon hearing that Gurudev’s chopper was grounded in the paddy fields rushed to behold a glimpse of the master and seek his blessings.
Guruji narrated the misadventures and plight faced by the villagers to the Art of Living teacher. And thus, the seed to install a borewell was sown, the mission accomplished and fructified shortly. Dots were seamlessly joined by the mere presence of the Master and marvel and wonder has been the outcome.
Apparently, 12kms away were a group of Art of Living participants who had undertaken a meditation programme. They were to catch a glimpse and discern the chopper transporting Gurudev as it flew over their township. Half in jest, they mentioned they would make the helicopter take a detour and have a pit stop at their bijou town. Intemperate weather conditions compelled a change in program and Guruji decided to return to Bangalore by road. On the way Guruji decided to make an unscheduled but most welcome stop at the course venue, leaving the participants incredulous, stupefied but ecstatic, all at the same time!  One may term it as the work of angels as mere utterances metamorphosed into reality.
Three young men for a living had travelled all the way from Jammu and Kashmir to Thiruranvanamallai. These youngsters had learnt about Gurudev’s various peace initiatives in the distraught valley and the perturbation faced by the people, through the media. It was impinged on their minds to have darshan of Gurudev. However, their proposed visit to Bangalore Ashram did not fructify on account of paucity of resources. But their sankalpa was unassailable and impregnable. They were blessed with robust minds. The grace of the Master was evident as Guruji on his way to Arunachaleswarar temple arrived at their door step.
This is result of the spiralling effect of efficacious thought processes where a sequence of fortuitous events occurs in a facile manner. Unalloyed and sterling intents of the devout get magically answered by a positive sleight of hand of the Master. A deep seated, positive sankalpa is paramount.
There is a long-standing tradition to hold a majestic Kumbhabhishekam every twelve years at the striking and resplendent Arunachaleswarar temple. The priests of this sacred shrine had beseeched Guruji twice to preside over the function. On account of Guruji’s over wrapped schedule this did not materialise.  Who was to know that this was to happen now, in the most felicitous and unpremeditated manner. Gurudev happened to be present in the temple town on the auspicious day and inaugurated the ceremonial rituals.
Human mind and intellect would normally debunk these sequences of events as mere coincidences. But one should probe deeper at these inexplicable and preternatural events. This is the difference between an ordinary and a Brobdingnagian mind.
Let us draw our attention to the following mathematical representation:
The summation of mere Intellect + Intelligence is Ego. However, when Intellect +Intelligence < Surrender, it transforms into Imagination. An imaginative mind is a creative and sinewy one, where incidences just occur.
As Guruji succinctly puts it, “Effort is a trait of body but effortlessness is that of mind.”  He goes on to say “You are total. You have all that you need. Do not underestimate yourself.”
The villagers of Seranthangal, the Deputy Block Development officer, people meditating in the small township, the muscular men hailing from Kashmir and the priests of Arunachaleswarar temple were all independent entities but were strangely intertwined in His divine aura, without any encumbrance. Events occurred admirably, without any exertion.
This is where these pining souls discovered spiritual independence on a Republic Day.

The Mabharata War - As shared

It is said in the texts that 80% of the fighting male population of the civilization was wiped out in the eighteen days Mahabharata war.

Sanjay, at the end of the war went to the spot where the greatest war took place; Kurukshetra.

He looked around and wondered if the war really happened, if the ground beneath him had soaked all that blood, if the great Pandavas and Krishna stood where he stood.

“You will never know the truth about that!” said an aging soft voice.

Sanjay turned around to find an Old man in saffron robes appearing out of a column of dust.

“I know you are here to find out about the Kurukshetra war, but *you cannot know about that war till you know what the real war is about*.” the Old man said enigmatically.

“What do you mean?”

*The Mahabharata is an Epic, a ballad, perhaps a reality, but definitely a philosophy*.

The Old man smiled luring Sanjay into more questions.

“Can you tell me what the philosophy is then?”
Sanjay requested.

Sure, began the Old man.

*The Pandavas are nothing but your five senses*,
sight,
smell,
taste,
touch
and sound...,

and do you know what the *Kauravas* are?
 he asked narrowing his eyes.

*The Kauravas are the hundred vices that attack your senses everyday but you can fight them*... and do you know how?

Sanjay shook his head again.

“When Krishna rides your chariot!”

The Old man smiled brighter and Sanjay gasped at that gem of insight.

*Krishna is your inner voice, your soul, your guiding light and if you let your life in his hands you have nothing to worry*.

Sanjay was stupefied but came around quickly with another question.

“Then *why are Dronacharya and Bhishma fighting for the Kauravas, if they are vices*?”

The Old man nodded, sadder for the question.

It just means that as you grow up, your perception of your elders change. *The elders who you thought were perfect in your growing up years are not all that perfect. They have faults. And one day you will have to decide if they are for your good or your bad.  Then you may also realize that you may have to fight them for the good. It is the hardest part of growing up and that is why the Geeta is important*.

Sanjay slumped down on the ground, not because he was tired but because he could understand and was struck by  the enormity of it all.

 *What about Karna*? he whispered.

“Ah!” said the Old man. “You have saved the best for last. *Karna is the brother to your senses, he is desire, he is a part of you but stands with the vices. He feels wronged and makes excuses for being with the vices as your desire does all the time.*

*Does your desire not give you excuses to embrace vices*?”

Sanjay nodded silently. He looked at the ground, consumed with a million thoughts, trying to put everything together and then when he looked up the Old man was gone....
disappeared in the column of dust.........leaving behind the great philosophy of Life!
🙏🙏🙏🙏

Found it quite inspirational...hence circulating...just  to make us think...😊...

Love your mother as shared

A Poor Couple lived in a Small Village in India.

They had only 1 Son.

They gave him the Best Education.

Son Graduated as an Engineer in the nearby City

Eventually He got Married to a Rich Girl.

Initially, They Lived with His Parents in the Village.

Soon the Wife got Tired of Village Life & Persuaded Her Husband to Move to the City Leaving His Old Parents in the Village.

As Time went, the Husband saw an Ad in the Newspaper about a
Job Vacancy in U.S

He was Successful & Lived in U.S for 20 Years with His Wife.

Regularly, He used to Send Money to His Parents

Eventually with Time, He Stopped & Forgot about His Parents whether
They ever Existed.

Every Day He Pray & Immediately after each Prayer He used to see Someone telling Him
in a Dream that his Prayer is not Accepted.

One Day, He Related this Story to a 'Pious Aalim' who Advised Him to go Back to India to Visit His Parents.

The Man Flew to India & Reached the Boundary of His Village.

Everything was Changed over there.

He could not Find His House.

So He asked to the Head of the Village about the Whereabouts of His Parents.

The Head of the Village directed Him to a House & said: "In this House, Lives an Old Blind Lady who Lost Her Husband a Few Months Ago. She has a Son who Migrated to
US 20 Years back & Never came Back again. What an Unfortunate Man."

Son enters that Home &
Finds His Mother on the Bed.

He Tip-Toed as He did not want to Wake Her up.

He hears His Mother Whispering or Mumbling Something.

He gets Closer to Hear His Mothers Voice.

This is what His Mother was Saying: "God !
I am now Very Old & Blind.
My Husband just Died.
There is no One to Lower Me in My Grave when I Die. So please Send My Son to Fullfill
My Last Wish".

This is the Ending of a Story where the Prayer of a Mother is Accepted.

A Human Body can Bear only 45 Del (units) of Pain.

But at the Time of Giving Birth, A Mother feels upto 57 Del (units) of Pain.

This is similar to 20 Bones
getting Fractured, all at the Same Time.

This is just to tell U the extent, to which a Mother Loves Her Child.

So, Love Ur Mom till the End of Ur Life.

The Lady with whom U Fight almost Everyday, Suffered so much Pain
just to give U a Beautiful Life.

How many People will U Forward this to ?

I do not Mind, if I get this Message again.

I Passed it because
I Love My ⓂOTHER.

Huge Blessings in Small Virtues- As shared

No matter how many times I read this, I am always moved to tears..
Just read through, for there is no better thing than small acts of humility reposing your faith in humanity.
 'Huge blessing in small virtues'.

- by Maj Gen SPS Narang (Retd) in The Tribune:

Like a large percentage of secular Indians, I have an incident to share which may awaken the conscience of some of my fellow men.

The incident goes back to nearly a year, and even now evokes poignancy in my heart.

Last November, I was driving back to Dehradun from Chandigarh — a fascinating four-hour journey, with the added attraction of visiting Paonta Sahib Gurdwara. I had to break on the way to give myself and my car some rest. And what better than entering the abode of the Guru. Besides the soothing kirtan, it is the langar that one savours, seated on the floor among a multitude of people from all walks of life. Some partake of all meals as they have no means to satiate their hunger.

Breaking bread with them gives an indescribable spiritual high, and to experience this, one doesn’t have to belong to any one religion. I, too, enjoyed the langar and came out to get on with my journey.

I stopped to buy some knick-knacks from a kiosk outside the gurdwara. Just then, I spotted a family of Gujjars (Muslims nomads who rear cattle in semi mountains and sell milk), in an intent discussion in front of a tea vendor. The family comprised an elderly couple, two middle-aged couples and four children. Three women were partially veiled. They seemed poor as the eldest gentleman (probably the father) counted coins and some crumpled notes.

Undoubtedly, the issue was how much they could afford to buy. They asked for three cups of tea and four samosas (popular Indian snack) .

Gathering courage, I asked him, “Kya aap sab khana khayenge?” (would you all like to have food!!) They looked at one another with a mix of surprise, apprehension and a hurt self-respect.

There was silence. Sometimes, silence can be loud. The innocent eyes of the kids were filled with hope. “Hum kha ke aaaye hain,” (we have eaten already) he responded.

There was an instant retort, “Kahan khayaa hai subeh se kuch bhi, Abba?” (we have not eaten anything since morning, Papa!!).

Hearing that, a dull ache in my chest caught me by surprise. The stern look in the eyes of the three men and the pleading moist eyes of the women said it all.

I insisted that they come with me. They agreed, reluctantly. We entered the gurdwara (Sikh Temple of God) .

A good feeling descended over me as I deposited their shoes at the jora ghar (Shoe deposite room in all Gurdwaras). The elders were awed by the architectural marvel.

However, there was fear in their eyes, which was understandable. They were entering a non-Islamic place of worship for the first time.

But the children couldn’t care less, their innocent faces single-mindedly focused on food. Some onlookers flashed strange looks from the corner of their eyes. But then I followed the children, adopting their easy attitude as they excitedly chose head wraps of different colours. (everyone is supposed to cover their heads inside a Gurdwara).

Except for the eldest member, all accompanied me inside, and emulating me, bowed their heads and touched their forehead to the floor. Many others must have noticed, as I did, that these children went through this ritual with utmost reverence. They took Parshad (offering) from the Bhaiji (The Priest) ) who asked them if they needed more. The children gladly nodded.

We entered the Langar Hall and I took the kids along to collect thaalis (plates) .

They did it with joy, like only kids would. Seated opposite us was a newly-married couple. The bride, with red bangles accentuating her charm, asked the children to sit beside her, and two of them sat between them. The way she was looking after them, I could tell she would make a loving mother.
Langar was served, and though I had already eaten, I ate a little to make my guests comfortable. One had to see to believe how they relished it. The initial apprehension had vanished and they ate to their fill. I have no words to describe the joy I experienced.

We had nearly finished when an elderly Sikh and a youth with flowing beard (perhaps the head granthi and sewadar-helper) sought me out.

I was overcome by fear, and more than me, my guests were scared. I walked up to them with folded hands.

He enquired, “Inhaan nu tusi le ke aaye ho? (Have you brought them in?).” I nodded.

The next question had me baffled, “Tusi har din path karde ho? (Do you say prayers every day?).” I almost blurted “yes”, but it would have been a lie. So, with utmost humility I said “no”.

Expecting an admonishment, he surprised me, “Tuhaanu tha koi lorh hi nahin. Aj tuhaanu sab kuch mil gaya hai ji (You don’t need to. Today you have got everything).” I was flabbergasted. Was it advice or sarcasm? He added, “Inha nu Babbe de ghar lya ke te langar shaka ke tusi sab kuch paa laya. Tuhaada dhanwad. Assi dhan ho gaye (By bringing them to the Guru’s abode for langar, you’ve got everything from God. Thank you. We are blessed).”

Then, with folded hands, he walked up to the elderly couple and requested them, “Aap jad bhi idhar aao to langar kha ke jaaiye. Yeh to uparwale da diya hai ji (Whenever you happen to pass through here, please come and have food. It is God’s gift).”

I escorted my guests out of the Langar Hall. Just as we were about to pick our footwear, one of the children said, “Humme aur halwa do naa.” (Get us some more sweet offering). We five went in to get more parshad.

Finally, as they were about to depart, the elderly lady whispered to her husband.

I enquired, “Koi baat, Miyaji?” (is there any problem, Mian Ji!!

Almost pleadingly, he said, “Yeh keh rahin ki, kya aap ke sar par haath rakh sakti hain? (She is saying, can she keep her hand on your head)!! I bowed as she blessed me with tears in her eyes.

A wave of emotions swept over me.

Is it my imagination, or for real, that I often feel the beautiful hand of a Muslim lady, wrapped in purity and love, on my head?

This is the reason, we are secular..🙏

Who is your fallback!- as shared

Who is your fallback!

People help you the way they know to help you. To help you to come out of stress, one friend will ask you to drink and another will ask you to meditate.
To overcome hurt, one friend will ask you to take revenge and get even, and another will ask you to forgive and get ahead with your life.

‘Who is your fallback’ makes all the difference.

Duryodhana’s predicament, in his own words, was, “I know what is right but I am not able to indulge in it. I know what is wrong but I am not able to avoid it.” He needed a fallback. His fallback was his uncle Saguni, and resultantly, Duryodhana moved from bad to worse.

Arjuna’s predicament was different. He was allowing his personal emotions to dominate his sense of duty, and hence wanted to escape from the responsibilities he had towards upholding righteousness. He needed a fallback. His fallback was Krishna, and resultantly, Arjuna was restored to his greatness. Humans we are, at some point or the other, we all need a fallback.

'Who is your fallback’ makes all the difference.

Conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna as shared

Any body who is too much stressed or confused should read this again and again.....I got all my answers..Try this..

A rare conversation between Krishna & Today's Arjun.  Read it loud to family,
it's one of  the best message I have come across...

1. Arjun :- *_I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic._*

Krishna:- *Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you free.*

2. Arjun :- *_Why has life become complicated now?_*

Krishna :- *Stop analyzing life... It makes it complicated. Just live it.*

3. Arjun :- *_Why are we then constantly unhappy?_*

Krishna :- *Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.*

4. Arjun :- *_Why do good people always suffer?_*

Krishna :- *Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer.*
*With that experience their life becomes better, not bitter.*

5. Arjun :- *_You mean to say such experience is useful?_*

Krishna :- *Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. It gives the test first and the lessons later.*

6. Arjun :- *_Because of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading…_*

Krishna:- *If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides the way.*

7. Arjun :- *_Does failure hurt more than moving in the right direction?_**

Krishna:- *Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you.*

8. Arjun :- *_In tough times, how do you stay motivated?_*

Krishna :- *Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.*

9. Arjun :- *_What surprises you about people?_*

Krishna :- *When they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me?"*

10. Arjun :- *_How can I get the best out of life?_*

Krishna:- *Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.*

11. Arjun :- *_One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered._*

Krishna:- *There are no unanswered prayers. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.*

Stay blessed and
Stay Happy Always.....!!!

99 club as shared

Superb one....Worth reading !

Once upon a time, there lived a King who, despite his luxurious lifestyle, was not happy at all.

One day, the King came upon a servant who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King; Why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy?

The King asked the servant, 'Why are you so happy?'

The man replied, 'Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don't need too much - just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies.'

The king sought the advice of his most trusted advisor. After hearing the story, the advisor said, 'Your Majesty, the servant has not yet joined "The 99 Club".'

'The 99 Club? And what is that?' the King inquired.

The advisor replied, 'To truly know what The 99 Club is, just place 99 Gold coins in a bag and leave it at this servant's doorstep.'

When the servant saw the bag, he let out a great shout of joy... so many gold coins. He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were only 99 coins.

He wondered, 'What could've happened to that last gold coin? Surely, no one would leave 99 coins!'

He looked everywhere, but that final coin was elusive. Finally he decided that he was going to work harder than ever to earn that 100th gold coin.

From that day, the servant was a changed man. He was overworked, grumpy, and blamed his family for not helping him make that 100th gold coin.

And he had stopped singing while he worked.

Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King was puzzled. The advisor said, 'Your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club.'

He continued, 'The 99 Club is a name given to those people who have enough to be happy but are never content, because they're always wanting that extra 1, saying to themselves: "Let me get that one final thing and then I will be happy for life."

We can be happy with very little in our lives, but the minute we're given something bigger and better, we want more ...and even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, as the price for our growing needs and desires.

That's "The 99 Club"...

Benefits of Ghee

Curejoy Expert Claude Butler Explains:

Ayurveda claims that ghee has a host of health and cooking benefits and is beneficial for both the mind and the spirit. Ghee is made by a simple process of boiling butter and then removing the butterfat, leaving behind the proteins (casein and whey) and the milk solids (which includes lactose). This is known as clarified butter. If eaten in moderation, ghee can provide your body with higher concentrations of essential nutrients that aren’t available in butter.

Health Benefits of Ghee

Here is a list of important health benefits obtained by consuming ghee.

High Smoke point: Since it cooks at a higher point than almost any other oil, the advantage is that it won’t break into free radicals like that in other oils. Free radicals can potentially be harmful to health, and when oils reach beyond their smoking point, it can be hazardous to a person’s respiratory system. Ghee also has a higher smoke point than butter.Reduce Risk Of Heart Disease: Ghee is rich in conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA, a fatty acid known to be protective against carcinogens, artery plague and diabetes. Because of this, researchers say ghee can be used to prevent cardiovascular disease.Weight Loss: When ghee is derived from grass-fed cows, the butter contains cancer-fighting fatty acid that aids in weight loss.Better Digestion: Ghee is rich in butyric acid. Beneficial intestinal bacteria convert fiber into butyric acid and then use that for energy and intestinal wall support. According to the author of Prescription of Nutrional Healing, butyric acid is “a monounsaturated fatty acid that reduces inflammatory conditions, reduces seepage of undigested food particles, and aids in repair of the mucosal wall.”Lowers Cholesterol: Ghee is high in palmitic acid, which is artery-clogging. Studies have shown that ghee can reduce cholesterol both in the serum and intestine. This is done by triggering an increased secretion of biliary lipids.Skin: Ghee is known to purify the skin and give it an added glow. It acts as a natural moisturizer when used regularly. It’s also known to reduce burning sensation of skin, heal scars, chicken pox scars and more

Intuition Process

"The only real valuable thing is intuition." - Albert Einstein
The intuition process and training as imparted by the Art of Living is increasingly becoming popular among the children of 5 to 8 years’ age and also among youngsters between the ages of 8 to18 years. Both the sets of children and youth have their aspirations, dreams, issues, fun levels and problems.
These are to be tackled from a different plane as opposed to the problems faced by adults. Aeons back while in school I remember acting in a musical called the 'Kidstuf 'written by all of us (the participating actors), it was scripted by and directed by the noted theatre personality Barry John and the music was scored by Param Vir.
In the musical, we raised adolescent issues to our teachers, parents and the world at large so that they could appreciate the misadventures, problems, fantasies of children from the prism and perspective of the children and youth and not from an ossified viewpoint.
Intuition is the supreme level of acquiring and understanding knowledge. Our Ancient Rishis in the oriental world discovered esoteric knowledge without the assistance of modern technology at their disposal. This was prior to the scientists and philosophers of the occidental world could explore that the earth was round in shape and that it spun on its axis and rotated around the sun. It is indeed astonishing that several stars and planets which populated the constellation were known to the minds of our Rishis and they could classify and name them.  The ancient Rishis through deep meditation, contemplation developed and harnessed their intuitive abilities and faculties. Through their amazing clairvoyance, they could harness the potential of the mind and identify objects with precision and accuracy.
A child today can explore the amazing world of Intuition as imparted in the Intuition process of Art of Living. This is through the technique of meditation.   Meditation has the immense power to kindle intuitive abilities among humans.
Intuition Process is bringing back the ancient esoteric knowledge into a modern format for children with simple yet powerful and profound techniques in a fun filled manner. As a result, young children are able to visualise colors, identify pictures, read texts while keeping their eyes closed.
In barely six hours the program bestows similar powers of intuition through:
  • Ancient techniques, Relaxation Techniques.
  • Deep meditation techniques.
Several children, even those who are visually impaired all over India have been befuddled with these extraordinary techniques. This has helped in the following
  •  Increasing concentration levels remendously.
  • Ability to read and study for longer duration.
  • A graphic understanding of the subject.
  •  Development of photographic memory and other skill-sets.
  • Increased interest in the subject
  • What was grasped in 2-3 hours has been reduced to barely twenty minutes.
  • The child can guess accurately and is able to crack multiple choice questions in a facile manner.
  • Some students by undergoing the course have developed their interest and talent in outdoor and indoor games such as cricket, soccer and chess.
"All human knowledge thus begins with intuitions, proceeds thence to concepts, and ends with ideas." - Immanuel Kant
