Food for thought

This is one of the nicest articles I’ve read in a while: no politics, no religion, , and no racial issues,
just food for thought!

You know... time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years.
It seems just yesterday that I was young and embarking on my new life. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But, here it is... the last quarter of my life and it catches me by surprise... How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go?

I remember well seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that I was only on the first quarter and the fourth quarter was so far off that I could not visualise it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it is... my friends are retired and getting gray... they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me... but, I see the great change. Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant.. but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd become.

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore... it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will... I fall asleep where I sit!

And so... now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!! But, at least I know, though I’m on the last quarter and I'm not sure how long it will last... this I know, that when it's over on this earth... it's over. A new adventure will begin!

Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done... things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all in a lifetime.

So, if you're not on the last quarter yet.. let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life do it quickly! Don't put things off too long!! Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether you're on the last quarter or not!

You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life.... so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember.. and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!

"Life" is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one.
LIVE IT WELL! ENJOY TODAY!
DO SOMETHING FUN! BE HAPPY!
HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Remember "It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.
LASTLY, CONSIDER THIS:

~ Going out is good...

Coming home is better!

~ You forget names....
But it's OK because some people forgot they even knew you!!!

~ You realize you're never going to be really good at anything like golf.

~ The things you used to care to do, you aren't as interested in anymore, but you really don't care that you aren't as interested.

~ You sleep better on a lounge chair with the TV 'ON' than in bed. It's called "pre-sleep".

~ You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch..

~ You tend to use more 4 letter words .. "what?"..."when?".. ???

~ You have lots of clothes
in your wardrobe, more than half of which. you will never wear.

~ But Old is good in some things: Old Songs,
Old movies,
and best of all,
OLD FRIENDS!!

Stay well, "OLD FRIEND!"
Send this on to other "Old Friends!" and let them laugh in AGREEMENT!!! It's Not What You Gather, But What You Scatter That Tells What Kind Of Life You Have Lived.

Have an awesome day!! Cheers!

FRIENDS

I have a variety of friends who are all so different in character.
How is it possible that I can get along with them all?
I think that each one helps to bring out a "different" part of me.

With one of them I am polite.
        With another I joke.
With another I can be a bit naughty.
I can sit down and talk about serious matters with one,
be on the same wavelength with another.
With another I laugh a lot.
I listen to one friend's problems.
Then I listen to another one's advice for me.

My friends are like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
When completed, they form a treasure box.
A treasure of friends! They are my friends who understand me better than I understand myself.
They're friends who support me through good days and bad.

Real Age doctors tell us that friends are good for our health. Dr. Oz calls them Vitamin F (for Friends) and counts the benefits of friends as essential to our well being.
Research shows that people in strong social circles have less risk of depression and terminal strokes.
If you enjoy Vitamin F constantly you can be up to 30 years younger than your real age.
The warmth of friendship stops stress and even in your most intense moments, it decreases the chance of a cardiac arrest or stroke by 50%.

I'm so happy that I have a stock of Vitamin F (Friendship)! I value you, my friends and try to keep in touch with you all.
I know I am part of your lives because your names appear on my mobile screen every day and I feel blessed that you care as much for me as I care for you.

Thank you for being my Vitamin F !!!🥰🤲🏼🙏🏼 I value and treasure you, my Friends

TRUE STORY... PLEASE DO NOT DELETE, RETURN IF YOU CAN'T FORWARD TO AT LEAST ONE PERSON!!!

TRUE STORY... PLEASE DO NOT DELETE, RETURN IF YOU CAN'T FORWARD TO AT LEAST ONE PERSON!!!

At the prodding of my friends I am writing this story.
My name is Mildred Honor.
I am a former elementary school Music Teacher from Des Moines, Iowa.

I have always supplemented my income by Teaching Piano Lessons...
Something I have done for over 30 years.
During those years,
I found that Children have many levels of musical ability, and even though I have never had the prodigy,
I have taught some very talented students.
However,
I have also had my share of what I call
'Musically Challenged Pupils.

One such Pupil being Robby.
Robby was 11 years old when his Mother (a Single Mom) dropped him off for his first Piano Lesson.

I prefer that Students (especially Boys)
begin at  an earlier age, which I explained to Robby.
But Robby said that it had always been his Mother's Dream to hear him play the Piano,
so I took him as a Student.

At the end of each weekly Lesson he would always say
'My Mom's going to hear me Play someday.'
But to me,
it seemed hopeless,
he just did not have any Inborn Ability.
I only knew his Mother from a distance as she dropped Robby off or waited in her aged Car to pick him up.  She always waved and smiled,
but never dropped in;

Then one day Robby stopped coming for his Lessons.
I thought about calling him,
but Assumed that because of his lack of Ability he had decided to pursue something else.
I was also glad that he had stopped coming.
He was a Bad Advertisement for my Teaching!

Several Weeks later
I mailed a flyer recital to the Students' homes.
To my surprise,
Robby (who had received a flyer)
asked if he could be in the Recital.
I told him that the Recital was for current Pupils and that because he had dropped out,
he really did not Qualify.

He told me that his Mother had been Sick and Unable to take him to his piano lessons,
but that he had been practicing.
'Please Miss Honor,
I've just got to Play,'
he insisted.
I don't know what led me to allow him to play in the Recital -
perhaps it was his insistence or maybe something inside of me saying that it would be all right;

The night of the
Recital came and the high school gymnasium was packed with Parents,
Relatives and Friends.
I put Robby last in the Program,
just before I was to come up and thank all the Students and Play a finishing piece.
I thought that any damage he might do would come at the end of the Program and I could always salvage his poor performance through my 'Curtain Closer'.

Well, the Recital went off without a Hitch,
the Students had been Practicing and it Showed.
Then Robby came up on the stage.
His Clothes were Wrinkled and his Hair looked as though he had run an egg beater through it.
'Why wasn't he dressed up like the other Students?'
I thought.
'Why didn't his Mother at least make him Comb his Hair for this Special Night?'

Robby pulled out the Piano bench,
and I was Surprised
when he announced that he had chosen to play Mozart's Concerto No.21 in C Major.
I was not prepared for what I heard next.
His fingers were light on the keys, they even danced nimbly on the Ivories.
He went from Pianissimo to Fortissimo, from Allegro to Virtuoso;
his Suspended Chords that Mozart demands were Magnificent!
Never had I heard Mozart played so well by anyone his age.

After six and a half minutes,
he ended in a Grand Crescendo,
and everyone was on their feet in Wild Applause!!!
Overcome and in Tears,
I ran up on stage and put my arms around Robby in Joy;

'I have never heard you Play like that Robby,
how did you do it?'
Through the Microphone Robby explained:
'Well, Miss Honor,
Remember I told you that my Mom was sick?
Well, she actually had Cancer and Passed Away this Morning.
And well...
she was  Born Deaf,
so tonight was the first time she had ever heard me Play,
and I wanted to make
it Special.,

There wasn't a Dry Eye in the house that evening.
As People from Social Services led Robby from the stage to be placed in to Foster Care,
I noticed that even their Eyes were red and Puffy.
I thought to myself then how much Richer my Life had been for taking Robby as my Pupil.

No,
I have never had a Prodigy,
but that night
I became a Prodigy...
of Robby.
He was the Teacher and I was the Pupil,
for he had taught me the meaning of Perseverance and Love and Believing in Yourself,
and may be even taking a chance on someone and you didn't know why.

Robby was Killed years later in the Senseless Bombing of the Alfred P. Murray Federal Building in Oklahoma City
in April, 1995.

If God didn't have a Purpose for us,
we wouldn't be here!
Live Simply.
Love Generously.
Care Deeply.
Speak Kindly.

If you had cried,
you are just human.

Mistaken Obituary which led to an award of Nobel Prize

Mistaken Obituary which led to an award of Nobel Prize

How a mistaken obituary led to the Nobel Prizes!

Interesting real life incident.

Can you imagine reading your own obituary in the newspaper?

What would people say about you?

Alfred Nobel got the chance to read his own death notice, and he didn’t like what he saw.

Alfred Nobel was a very wealthy and successful man. He had become an expert in chemistry and invented three of the most commonly used explosives in the world - dynamite, gelignite (used in mining) and ballistite, which is still used as a rocket propellant today.

With the huge fortune he made from these inventions, Nobel bought an engineering company called Bofors and turned it into an arms manufacturer. He made another enormous fortune designing cannons and guns and selling them around the world.

Then, in 1888, Alfred’s brother died while visiting France.

A French newspaper thought it was Alfred who had died and they published an obituary that began like this: THE MERCHANT OF DEATH IS DEAD. Dr. Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday….

Alfred Nobel was shocked. Was this what people thought of him? Was this the legacy he would leave to the world?

That’s when he decided to use his vast wealth to make a positive difference. Nobel set up a foundation with $250 million dollars in funding. Every year the foundation would consult the leading experts in the world and hand out prizes to people who had made great contributions to humanity. There would be prizes for sciences, for literature, and for promoting peace.

Today the Nobel Prizes are probably the best known and most prestigious awards in the world. They have been awarded to great scientists, authors and activists and helped draw attention to many outstanding works and worthy causes.

        🏅🎖🎖🏅
Nobel set up his foundation in 1895: just in time to influence his own obituary. He died only a year later. The Nobel Prizes accomplished his wish; they created a very different legacy for him than a reputation as *The Merchant of Death.*

He is not remembered as an explosives inventor or arms dealer, but as one of the greatest philanthropists of all time. He is also a great example of how it is never too late to change your life and help make the world a better place.

That is the story of *Alfred Noble* and the legacy of *Noble Prizes*.

All this education was taught in Gurukul, but with time, when Gurukul disappeared, this knowledge also disappeared! Today, the future of the youth of our country is being destroyed by the Macaulay method, then in such a time, the redemption of Gurukul is needed.
How did Gurukul end in India? Convent schools ruined. Indian Education Act was formed in 1858 It was drafted by 'Lord Macaulay'. Even before he had conducted a survey of education system here (India), many Britishers had given their reports about India's education system. One of the British officer was G.W. Luther and the other was Thomas Munro! Both of them had surveyed different areas at different times. Luther, who surveyed North India, wrote that there is 97 % literacy here and Munro, who surveyed South India, wrote that here there is 100% literacy.
Macaulay had clearly said that if India is to be slaves forever, its ′′ indigenous and cultural education system ′′ must be completely demolished and replaced with ′′ English education system ′′ and only then only in body Indians but English will be born from the brain and when they leave the university of this country, they will work in our interest.
Macaulay is using an idiom - ′′ Just as a farm is thoroughly plowed before a crop is planted, so must it be plowed and brought in the English education system. ′′ That's why he first declared Gurukuls illegal. Then he declared Sanskrit illegal and the Gurukul's of this country he finished it by roaming around setting them on fire, beat the teachers in it and put them in jail.
Till 1850 there were ' 7 lakh 32 thousand ' Gurukul in this country and at that time there were ' 7 lakhs 50 thousand ' villages in India. Meaning every village had an average Gurukul and all these Gurukuls used to be ' Higher Learning Institute ' in today's language. 18 subjects were taught in all of them and these people of Gurukul Samaj used to run these together, not by the king.
Education was given free in Gurukuls. This is how all Gurukuls were abolished and then English education was legalized and the first convent school opened in Calcutta. That time it was called 'free school'. Under this law, Calcutta University was created in India, Bombay University was created, Madras University was created, these three slavery-era universities are still in the country!
Macaulay had written a letter to his father. It is a very famous letter, in it he writes: ′′ These convent schools will bring out children who look like Indians but are English by brain and they don't know anything about their country. They won't know anything about their culture, they won't have any idea about their traditions, they will not know their idioms, when such children are there in this country, even if the British go away, English will not leave this country. ′′ The truth of the letter written at that time is clearly visible in this country now and see the misery of the act that we are ashamed to speak our own language. Speak in English to be called an educated. We feel inferior of ourselves who are ashamed to speak our own language.
People argue that English is the international language. There are 204 countries in the world and the English language is spoken, read and understood in only 11 countries, then how is this international language? Even in terms of words, English is not rich but poor language. The bible of these British was not in English and Jesus Christ did not speak English. The language of Jesus Christ and the language of the Bible were Armec. The script of Armek language was similar to our Bangla language. That language went extinct in the time cycle.
The language in the United Nations is not English, all the work there is in French. A society that is cut off from its mother tongue never gets good and this was Macaulay’s strategy! In which almost they have conquered because today's youth knows more about Europe than India. Considers Indian culture as dhakosla but imitates western countries. Supports the leftist despite not knowing the importance and characteristics of religion.
A pricking question to all the brothers, we all should know about religion. Because religion teaches us nationalism, religion teaches us socialism, religion motivates us to sacrifice our life for parents, teachers and nation. Tradition is a spiritual science, spirituality is the richer science than the science we all know today...
Let's think.
May be time answers.

A Zen Story - found this worthy of a forward:

A Zen Story - found this worthy of a forward:

One day one person climbed up a mountain where a hermit woman was meditating.
She had taken refuge and was asked:

- “What are you doing here alone in such a solitude place?”
 To which she replied:

- “I have lots of work !”

- “And how can you have so much work?
I don't see anything around you here...?”

- “I have to train two hawks and two eagles, assure two rabbits, discipline one snake, motivate a donkey and tame a lion.....”

- “And, where have they gone that I don't see them?”

- “I have them all inside here within me...!!

✓ The hawks stare on everything that is presented to me, good or bad, I have to work on them to see only good things. They are my eyes.

✓ The two eagles with their claws hurt and destroy, I have to train them not to hurt. They are my hands.

✓ Rabbits want to go where they want, at the same time they do not want to face difficult situations, I have to teach them to be calm even if there is suffering or stumbling.  They are my feet.

✓ The donkey is always tired, stubborn and does not want to carry the load each time I walk. That is my body!

✓ The most difficult to tame is the "snake."  Although it is locked in a strong cage with 32 bars, it is always ready to sting, bite and poison anyone nearby. I have to discipline it...  that's my tongue.

✓ I also have one Lion.  Oh ... how proud, vain, he thinks that "he is the king." I have to tame him. And that's my ego.
So you see, my friend, I have  lots of work..... “

 Think & Reflect ! 🤔
We all may have the same — Lots to work on ourselves !
So Stop Criticising, Evaluating n Judging others ! Let’s First work on ourselves !!

This happened in US ! WHY CAN'T THIS HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY... INDIA?

This happened in US ! WHY CAN'T THIS HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY... INDIA?

Letter from a US . Airline pilot:

He writes:

My lead flight attendant came to me and said, "We have an H.R. On this flight."  (H.R. Stands for human remains.)

"Are they military?" I asked.
'Yes', she said.

'Is there an escort?' I asked.
'Yes, I already assigned him a seat'.

'Would you please tell him to come to the flight deck. You can board him early," I said..

A short while later, a young army sergeant entered the flight deck. He was the image of the perfectly dressed soldier. He introduced himself and I asked him about his soldier. The escorts of these fallen soldiers talk about them as if they are still alive and still with us.

'My soldier is on his way back to Virginia ,' he said. He proceeded to answer my questions, but offered no words.

I asked him if there was anything I could do for him and he said no. I told him that he had the toughest job in the military and that I appreciated the work that he does for the families of our fallen soldiers. The first officer and I got up out of our seats  to shake his hand. He left the flight deck to find his seat.

We completed our pre-flight checks, pushed back and performed an uneventful departure. About 30 minutes into our flight I received a call from the lead flight attendant in the cabin. 'I just found out the family of the soldier we are carrying, is on board', she said. She then proceeded to tell me that the father, mother, wife and 2-year old daughter were escorting their son, husband, and father home. The family was upset because they were unable to see the container that the soldier was in before we left. We were on our way to a major hub at which the family was going to wait four hours for the connecting flight home to Virginia .

The father of the soldier told the flight attendant that knowing his son was below him in the cargo compartment and being unable to see him was too much for him and the family to bear. He had asked the flight attendant if there was anything that could be done to allow them to see him upon our arrival. The family wanted to be outside by the cargo door to watch the soldier being taken off the airplane. I could hear the desperation in the flight attendants voice when she asked me if there was anything I could do. 'I'm on it', I said. I told her that I would get back to her.

Airborne communication with my company normally occurs in the form of e-mail like messages. I decided to bypass this system and contact my flight dispatcher directly on a Secondary radio. There is a radio operator in the operations control center who connects you to the telephone of the dispatcher. I was in direct contact with the dispatcher. I explained the situation I had on board with the family and what it was the family wanted. He said he understood and that he would get back to me.

Two hours went by and I had not heard from the dispatcher. We were going to get busy soon and I needed to know what to tell the family. I sent a text message asking for an update. I Saved the return message from the dispatcher and the following is the text:

'Captain, sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. There is policy on this now and I had to check on a few things. Upon your arrival a dedicated escort team will meet the aircraft. The team will escort the family to the ramp and plane side. A van will be used to load the remains with a secondary van for the family. The family will be taken to their departure area and escorted into the terminal where the remains can be seen on the ramp. It is a private area for the family only. When the connecting aircraft arrives, the family will be escorted onto the ramp and plane side to watch the remains being loaded for the final leg home. Captain, most of us here in flight control are veterans.. Please pass our condolences on to the family. Thanks.'

I sent a message back telling flight control thanks for a good job. I printed out the message and gave it to the lead flight attendant to pass on to the father. The lead flight attendant was very thankful and told me, 'You have no idea how much this will mean to them.'

Things started getting busy for the descent, approach and landing. After landing, we cleared the runway and taxied to the ramp area. The ramp is huge with 15 gates on either side of the alleyway. It is always a busy area with aircraft manuvering every which way to enter and exit.
When we entered the ramp and checked in with the ramp controller, we were told that all traffic was being held for us.
'There is a team in place to meet the aircraft', we were told.
It looked like it was all coming together, then I realised that once we turned the seat belt sign off, everyone would stand up at once and delay the family from getting off the airplane. As we approached our gate, I asked the co-pilot to tell the ramp controller we were going to stop short of the gate to make an announcement to the passengers. He did that and the ramp controller said, 'Take your time.'

I stopped the aircraft and set the parking brake. I pushed the public address button and said, 'Ladies and gentleman, this is your Captain speaking I have stopped short of our gate to make a special announcement. We have a passenger on board who deserves our honor and respect. His Name is Private XXXXXX, a soldier who recently lost his life. Private XXXXXX is under your feet in the cargo hold. Escorting him today is Army Sergeant XXXXXXX. Also, on board are his father, mother, wife, and daughter. Your entire flight crew is asking for all passengers to remain in their seats to allow the family to exit the aircraft first. Thank you.'

We continued the turn to the gate, came to a stop and started our shutdown procedures. A couple of minutes later I opened the cockpit door. I found the two forward flight attendants crying, something you just do not see. I was told that after we came to a stop, every passenger on the aircraft stayed in their seats, waiting for the family to exit the aircraft.

When the family got up and gathered their things, a passenger slowly started to clap his hands. Moments later more passengers joined in and soon the entire aircraft was clapping. Words of 'God Bless You', I'm sorry, thank you, be proud, and other kind words were uttered to the family as they made their way down the aisle and out of the airplane.

They were escorted down to the ramp to finally be with their loved one.

Many of the passengers disembarking thanked me for the announcement I had made. They were just words, I told them, I could say them over and over again, but nothing I say will bring back that brave soldier.

I respectfully ask that all of you reflect on this event and the sacrifices that millions of our men and women have made to ensure our freedom and safety

Foot note:
I know everyone who has served their country who reads this will have tears in their eyes, including me ( Being Defence Officer's son.)

I do Remember The Epitaph at “ Chushul” in Ladhak after the Chinese Ops of 1962 :
“ When you go home Tell them ,for their Today we gave our Tomorrow”
“ They die for me and mine and you and yours and deserve our honour and respect.

'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us..bless them and their families for the selfless acts they
perform for us in our time of need.. In  God’s Name'

Request To you :
When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops in India & those Indian troops deployed around the world.. There is nothing attached. Just send this to people in your e-Mail address book. Do not let it stop with you.
Of all the gifts you could give a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, & others deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best one.
Really worth repeating.

*THE BRAIN OF AN ELDERLY PERSON.*

*THE BRAIN OF AN ELDERLY PERSON.*

The director of the George Washington University College of Medicine argues that the brain of an elderly person is much more plastic than is commonly believed. At this age, the interaction of the right and left hemispheres of the brain becomes harmonious, which expands our creative possibilities. That is why among people over 60 you can find many personalities who have just started their creative activities.

Of course, the brain is no longer as fast as it was in youth. However, it wins in flexibility. That is why, with age, we are more likely to make the right decisions and are less exposed to negative emotions. The peak of human intellectual activity occurs at about 70 years old, when the brain begins to work at full strength.

Over time, the amount of myelin in the brain increases, a substance that facilitates the rapid passage of signals between neurons. Due to this, intellectual abilities are increased by 300% compared to the average.

And the peak of active production of this substance falls on 60-80 years of age. Also interesting is the fact that after 60 years, a person can use 2 hemispheres at the same time. This allows you to solve much more complex problems.

Professor Monchi Uri from the University of Montreal believes that the brain of an elderly person chooses the least energy-intensive path, cutting unnecessary and leaving only the right options for solving a problem. A study was conducted in which different age groups took part. Young people were confused a lot when passing the tests, while those over 60 made the right decisions.

Now let's look at the features of the brain at the age of 60-80. They are really rosy! 😊

*FEATURES OF THE BRAIN OF AN ELDERLY PERSON.*

1. The neurons of the brain do not die off, as everyone around them says. Connections between them simply disappear if a person does not engage in mental work.

2. Absent-mindedness and forgetfulness appear due to an overabundance of information. Therefore, do not focus your whole life on unnecessary trifles.

3. Beginning at the age of 60, a person, when making decisions, uses not one hemisphere at the same time like young people, but both.

4. Conclusion: If a person leads a healthy lifestyle, moves, is engaged in reasonable physical and mental activities, intellectual abilities DO NOT decrease with age, but GROWS, reaching a peak by the age of 80-90 years!

So don't be afraid of old age. Strive to develop intellectually. Learn new crafts, make music, learn to play musical instruments, paint! Dance! Take an interest in life, meet and communicate with friends, make plans for the future, travel as best you can. Don't forget to go to shops, cafes, concerts. Do not lock yourself in alone - it is destructive for any person. Live with the thought: all the good things are still ahead of me!

👀 Information!
A large study in the United States found that:
▪The most productive age of a person is from 60 to 70 years;
▪ The 2nd most productive human stage is the age from 70 to 80 years old;
▪ 3rd most productive stage - 50 and 60 years old.
▪ Before that, the person has not yet reached his peak.
▪The average age of Nobel Prize laureates is 62;
▪The average age of the presidents of the 100 largest companies in the world is 63 years;
▪The average age of pastors in the 100 largest churches in the United States is 71;
▪The average age of dads is 76 years.
▪ This confirms that a person's best and most productive years are between 60 and 80 years of age.
▪This study was published by a team of doctors and psychologists in the NEW ENGLAND JOURNAL OF MEDICINE.
▪They found that at 60 you reach the peak of your emotional and mental potential, and this continues until you are 80.
▪ Therefore, if you are 60, 70 or 80 years old, you are at the best level of your life.

*The Law of "Wasted" Effort:*

Do you know that lions, the most dangerous animals in the jungle, only succeed in a quarter of their hunting attempts? This means they fail in 75% of their attempts and succeed in only 25% of them.

Despite this small percentage shared by most predators, they don't despair in their pursuit and hunting attempts. The main reason is their "understanding" of the Law of Wasted Efforts, which is instinctively built into animals.

-Half the eggs of fish are eaten...
-Half the baby bears die before puberty...

-Half of the seeds sown into the soil do not grow…
-Most of the world's rains fall into the ocean…
-Most of the seeds of trees are eaten by birds.

Scientists have found that animals, trees and other forces of nature are more receptive to the law of wasted efforts. While other forms of life accept non-successful attempts as the law of wasted effort, only human beings think that the lack of success in a few attempts is failure.

The truth is that we only fail when we stop trying. People who understood this and kept trying are the ones that eventually made it to the top in their profession.

Success doesn't mean a life free of pitfalls and falls; rather, it means walking over your mistakes and going beyond every stage where your efforts were wasted.

Success means learning from every experience and applying that learning to improve your chances of winning next time. It means you never stop trying new ways of doing something, until you succeed.

In summary, never stop trying! That's what resilience is all about, and only the resilient ever achieve success and greatness!

If there is one secret mantra for success, it will simply be “continue all over again”.

What Is Intelligence, Anyway?

By Isaac Asimov

When I was in the army, I received the kind of aptitude test that all soldiers took and, against a normal of 100, scored 160. No one at the base had ever seen a figure like that, and for two hours they made a big fuss over me.

(It didn't mean anything. The next day I was still a buck private with KP - kitchen police - as my highest duty.)

All my life I've been registering scores like that, so that I have the complacent feeling that I'm highly intelligent, and I expect other people to think so too.

Actually, though, don't such scores simply mean that I am very good at answering the type of academic questions that are considered worthy of answers by people who make up the intelligence tests - people with intellectual bents similar to mine?

For instance, I had an auto-repair man once, who, on these intelligence tests, could not possibly have scored more than 80, by my estimate. I always took it for granted that I was far more intelligent than he was.

Yet, when anything went wrong with my car I hastened to him with it, watched him anxiously as he explored its vitals, and listened to his pronouncements as though they were divine oracles - and he always fixed my car.

Well, then, suppose my auto-repair man devised questions for an intelligence test.

Or suppose a carpenter did, or a farmer, or, indeed, almost anyone but an academician. By every one of those tests, I'd prove myself a moron, and I'd be a moron, too.

In a world where I could not use my academic training and my verbal talents but had to do something intricate or hard, working with my hands, I would do poorly.

My intelligence, then, is not absolute but is a function of the society I live in and of the fact that a small subsection of that society has managed to foist itself on the rest as an arbiter of such matters.

Consider my auto-repair man, again.

He had a habit of telling me jokes whenever he saw me.

One time he raised his head from under the automobile hood to say: "Doc, a deaf-and-mute guy went into a hardware store to ask for some nails. He put two fingers together on the counter and made hammering motions with the other hand.

"The clerk brought him a hammer. He shook his head and pointed to the two fingers he was hammering. The clerk brought him nails. He picked out the sizes he wanted, and left. Well, doc, the next guy who came in was a blind man. He wanted scissors. How do you suppose he asked for them?"

Indulgently, I lifted by right hand and made scissoring motions with my first two fingers.

Whereupon my auto-repair man laughed raucously and said, "Why, you dumb jerk, He used his voice and asked for them."

Then he said smugly, "I've been trying that on all my customers today." "Did you catch many?" I asked. "Quite a few," he said, "but I knew for sure I'd catch you."

"Why is that?" I asked. "Because you're so goddamned educated, doc, I knew you couldn't be very smart."

And I have an uneasy feeling he had something there.

Prayer

*Do you Pray?*  *I loved this interpretation of Prayer.*   What is a prayer?   Prayer doesn't just happen when we kneel or put our hands together and focus and expect things from God.   *Thinking positive and wishing good for others is a prayer.*   When you hug a friend. *That's a prayer.*   When you cook something to nourish family and friends. *That's a prayer.*   When we send off our near and dear ones and say, 'drive safely' or 'be safe'. *That's a prayer.*   When you are helping someone in need by giving your time and energy. *You are praying.*   When you forgive someone by your heart. *That is prayer.*   *Prayer is a vibration. A feeling. A thought.*  *Prayer is the voice of love, friendship, genuine relationships*.   *Prayer is an expression of your silent being.*                                                                                           Keep praying always... wish well for others…always help those in need… be merciful…walk a mile in others shoes… never judge…everything comes back
